Background
The Blood Worship Cult is a millennia-old organization that has survived repeated suppression by dynasties and the Authorities. It possesses deep occult foundations, including three Forbidden Canon Original Texts and knowledge related to the Destined One path. 260 262
A vision witnessed by Bai Zhou reveals that a former Tinghai Director-General received the Holy Relic from a Black-Cloaked ritualist, abandoned his official identity, and proclaimed himself leader of the Blood Worship Cult. He dismantled the Holy Relic and used its bones to create the original seven Seven Sins Cells. 419
During the reign of the seventy-second cult leader, the Cult entered a perceived golden age alongside an unusually powerful generation of Seven Sins. That generation disappeared within a decade; the leader then became Patient Zero of Blood Thirst Syndrome, triggering an epidemic and leaving a major gap in the Cult's historical records. Bai Zhou and the Gem Witch later theorized that the Seven Sins had been sacrificed in an unsuccessful attempt to reassemble the Holy Relic. 430 432
The Cult and the Holy Relic Institute eventually fought a near-mutual-destruction battle around the turn of the century. The Institute disappeared from public history, while the Blood Worship Cult endured under the Five Elders. 432
Organization

| Rank / Institution | Function |
|---|---|
| Cult Leader | The nominal supreme leader and “parent” of the Cult. The office has been vacant for nearly fifty years. 352 357 |
| Three Saints | Heirs associated with the Cult's three Forbidden Canons; only one Saint had recently emerged in the present era. 352 |
| Five Elders Institute | A dominant internal bloc represented by the Black Water, Rotten Wood, Rusty Gold, Demonic Flame, and Filthy Earth families. 352 |
| Seven Sins Institute | Institution of the seven Sin Lords, whose members wield Seven Sins Cells and may raise private armed forces. 296 371 |
| Lifeforging Cardinals | High-ranking combatants and regional powerholders. 352 404 |
| Enforcement Elders / Blood Robe Elders | Level 6 enforcement elders and Level 5 Blood Robe Elders serving the Cult's hierarchy. 351 352 |
| Saint's Attendant Corps | Gifted children of elders, functioning both as hostages and as elite attendants to a Saint. 352 |
Internal factions
- Five Elders Institute — The Cult's largest established power bloc. Its five affiliated families resist the rise of another powerful Seven Sins Institute that could challenge their control. 352
- Seven Sins Institute — A semi-independent institution centered on seven thrones and the Blood Moon Altar. Its members can establish personal forces, compete for influence, and are expected to prove themselves through strength. 296 371
- Holy Son's New Blood Worship Cult — A hidden organization built with Cult resources but operating apart from the official headquarters and the Five Elders. It relies on legitimate-looking businesses, surveillance networks, underground facilities, and long-term human experimentation. 425 426
- Medical Association — A Cult-affiliated force that supplied Doctors and helped monitor or control the Seven Sins. 301 399
Doctrine and Culture
The Cult openly celebrates sin, personal ambition, violence, and the strong devouring the weak. Its members regard loyalty as conditional on self-interest, power, and the promise of advancement. 301 357
Its internal culture treats murder, exploitation, and factional struggle as normal. Senior cultists may kill weaker members without consequence, while lower-ranking members admire such brutality as proof of status. 351
The Blood Moon is a central symbol, appearing on cult robes, altars, ritual spaces, and the Cult's traditional invocation. 291 296 359
“When Raven sings of the quiet hour, when the Blood Moon returns to the earth!” 359
Resources and Operations
Strongholds and infiltration
- The Cult maintains numerous hidden strongholds and “nests” around Tinghai, making direct access difficult even for those seeking to investigate it. 259 261
- Its visible Lower City presence includes gangs, smugglers, criminal organizations, and supernatural cultists. 375
- The Holy Son's splinter faction infiltrated delivery services, rickshaw companies, taxi businesses, employment agencies, and other mundane industries to collect intelligence and locate vulnerable targets. 425 426
- The Little Yellow Rat Delivery Company serves as a public-facing cover for a major underground facility and citywide intelligence network. 425
Forbidden Canons and Demon Cells
- The Cult possesses three Forbidden Canon Original Texts, relics rare enough that Bai Zhou had never encountered one under official control. 260
- The Bone Key can unlock the second chapter of a Forbidden Canon and was intended to accelerate the growth of successive Holy Sons. 272 273
- Seven Sins Cells were created from portions of the Holy Relic and grant their hosts extraordinary, demon-like powers. 419
- Each Cell contains a failsafe that attempts to return it to the Seven Sins Hall when its host dies, preserving the possibility of replacing a fallen Sin Lord. 436
Fantasyland Project
The Cult's most extensive modern operation began with the premise of sending Present World humans into the Reflection Ruins Realm, allowing contamination, reproduction, and selection to produce people capable of transcending ordinary life and death. Evening City was one such stronghold, initially populated with 128 prisoners. 2
The Holy Son's version of the project has operated for roughly a century. Every five years, vulnerable civilians are abducted, brainwashed, and transported through complex Rituals into prepared “Fantasylands” within the Ruins Realm. 426
Survivors with unusual resistance to Void Contamination are processed into Fragrant Meat, human material intended to supply the flesh and blood needed to revive the Cult's “Supreme Bone.” 426 432
Armed forces
- The Cult fields Black Robes, blood-robed elites, Blood Robe Elders, enforcement elders, Cardinals, and other Transcendent combatants. 291 292 351
- Its factions are permitted to cultivate private troops; a leader's personal army is a major measure of political influence and survival. 371
- The Holy Son secretly backed Luo Tunan's development of Black Warrior technology and intended to seize his hidden armory for the Cult. 368
- Bai Zhou later transformed the armory's Black Warriors into Sunlight Soldiers and Sun Knights, depriving the Holy Son of the force he had intended to inherit. 436 437
Relationships
- Holy Son / Saint Son — A powerful Saint and architect of the New Blood Worship Cult. He uses official Cult resources while preparing an independent “new nest” beyond the Five Elders' control. 425 426
- Five Elders Institute — The Cult's entrenched ruling bloc; opposes the Holy Son's growing Seven Sins faction and has begun obstructing his plans. 352 429
- Seven Sins Institute — A core Cult institution whose Sin Lords serve as powerful assets, but may also be intended as sacrificial components of the Holy Son's ritual. 427 432
- Authorities — Longstanding enemy. Their forces repeatedly clash with Cult personnel across Tinghai, including major battles involving Cardinals, Lifeforgers, and elite units. 292 404
- Holy Relic Institute — Historical rival whose Holy Relic was divided to create the Seven Sins Cells. Its disappearance followed a near-catastrophic conflict with the Cult. 419 432
- Bai Zhou / “Sloth” — Bai Zhou infiltrated the Cult by replacing Sloth, rose to head of the Seven Sins Institute, and used the position to investigate its secrets and sabotage the Holy Son's plans. 259 297 430
Story Role
- The Cult is first identified as the force behind Evening City's experiment in the Reflection Ruins Realm. 2
- After Dr. Zhang's fall, Bai Zhou adopts the identity of Sloth, allowing him to enter the Cult as a presumed Seven Sins heir. 259 261
- The Holy Son tests Sloth by ordering the destruction of the Art Club, then accelerates his rise as a potential King of Lustful Evils and head of the Seven Sins Institute. 263 266
- Bai Zhou defeats the Five-Colored Pupils' representatives at the Demon Assembly and claims leadership of the Seven Sins Institute. 353 355
- The Seven Sins Institute publicly emerges through Bai Zhou's Hundred Demons Night Parade, escalating the conflict between the Cult and the Authorities. 370 375
- Bai Zhou's investigation exposes the Holy Son's New Blood Worship Cult, the Fantasyland Project, the planned revival of the Supreme Bone, and the impending ritual countdown. 425 426 429
- While still undercover, Bai Zhou sabotages the Underground Labyrinth's ritual network and prepares it to collapse into a massive “fireworks” display. 430
- Bai Zhou kills Lust, seizes control of the armory, and awakens its transformed Solar Legion before the Holy Son can reclaim the force. 435 436 437
