As Saine and the others continued deeper toward the heart of the Steel Ruins, flickering images occasionally surfaced in Wall-E's mind.
Some of these images were memories Wall-E had recalled before, such as certain details about its master, or the fact that its master had said he would come back for it.
Other images were scenes Wall-E had only recently remembered.
For instance, scenes of Wall-E assisting its master with research in a secluded scientific laboratory.
Saine had once asked what Wall-E's master looked like. Wall-E thought for a long time, until blue smoke even rose from its body, yet it still failed to remember clearly.
It only remembered that its master seemed rather old and always liked to wear a white coat.
Saine was different. In the laboratory, he most often wore a black magic robe.
"I have no impression of this place. I probably haven't been here before," Wall-E said, shaking its head.
Saine and the others were currently in an underground research institute near the central region of the Steel Ruins.
The faint fluctuations of Law Power indicated by the Magic Cube had guided Saine and the others here.
"Search for everything of value and record this place's coordinates. We won't stay here long," Saine told those around him.
Perhaps because he knew the Combat Legions of both sides had already shifted the main battlefield into the subspace, or perhaps because of the sudden discomfort he had felt earlier, Saine vaguely sensed pressure and urged everyone onward.
In fact, ever since learning that the Combat Legions of both sides had entered this subspace, Saine and the others had noticeably shortened their stays at every ruin discovery site.
As a rational magician, he could not hope that the first to find them would necessarily be a Wizard Civilization
