The vast majority of Flame Creatures stopped before reaching the hall at the bottom of the trench, their faces showing obvious fear toward the jet-black, oppressive hall before them.
Only the guardian, hunched over, slowly yet resolutely stepped inside.
This jet-black, oppressive hall, built beneath the depths of the Magma Sea, was the temple that the Level-5 Creature Poison Flame Demon King Anruida had expended great care and effort to construct long ago.
Quite a few Level-4 and above creatures from ignorant, lowly worlds always liked to proclaim themselves gods.
Some worlds did indeed possess relatively rigorous and complete power systems for attaining godhood through faith. Many planes under the Wizard Alliance belonged to this category.
But the Poison Fire Green Flame World had not actually developed any proper path of attaining godhood through faith.
Poison Flame Demon King Anruida had risen to the Level-5 life tier purely through passive evolution and certain opportunistic methods.
As for the more detailed classifications within true faith-based godhood systems—divine offices, divine sparks, divine domains, and the like—this fellow knew very little.
Within the Wizard Alliance, the world that had truly brought the path of attaining godhood through faith to its pinnacle was none other than the Wizard Alliance's most powerful member world—the Titan World.
The Titan World, a world whose own strength surpassed even that of the Nesser Civilization!
It was an incomparably vital pillar supporting the Wizard Civilization's rule over the Surrounding Starfield.
It was said that many Level-4 and above Alliance creatures within the Wizard Alliance attached themselves to the Titan World in order to gain a voice.
Likewise, the Titan God-King was currently the strongest Exotic Dominator in the Wizard Alliance, without equal!
Compared to the Titan World, which had developed the path of attaining godhood through faith to an extraordinary height, the Poison Fire Green Flame World before them was more like a destitute, clumsy little world.
There was no special law power supporting the temple of the Level-5 Creature Anruida, either.
Under the dim light, one could see many intricate patterns and images praising Anruida on the temple walls.
Yet those images served only as decoration and had no special function whatsoever.
The Poison Fire Green Flame World was, in the end, merely an inconspicuous Low-Level Plane in the Star Realm.
For a Level-5 Creature to have been born there was already this world's greatest fortune.
And the "Azure Glaze" mineral deposits unique to this plane also marked that this world would one day have its own tiny mark upon the Wizard Civilization's map.
Of course, that was all.
"I heard that Silver Armor Magic Puppet from the Nesser Civilization has already been destroyed?" In the vast, dim, oppressive temple, the guardian suddenly raised its head and asked.
Unlike the previous guardian, the Crimson Flame Green Turtle, which had possessed a much larger body, the guardian before them was not only extremely small, but also incomparably weak by comparison.
Though the guardian was very weak, its voice remained fairly clear when it spoke in such a vast, silent hall.
Moreover, to guardians, the level of their strength was not important. What determined whether they could succeed as guardians depended more on whether they loved their Mother Plane and were willing to devote their lives to it.
The previous guardian, the Crimson Flame Green Turtle, had been one of the most powerful guardians in the history of the Poison Fire Green Flame World.
Yet hadn't it still been directly vaporized by a single main cannon blast from a Wizard Civilization Space Fortress?
Given the power level of that Space Fortress's main cannon, even Poison Flame Demon King Anruida had been unwilling to take it head-on. Not to mention the Crimson Flame Green Turtle, which had only possessed Level-3 strength at the time—how could it possibly have withstood it?
However, upon closer observation, one would discover that the temperature within the hall had clearly risen considerably, while faintly pungent poisonous gas wafted through the air.
Ignoring the changes in the temple's environment, the guardian took many more steps toward the center of the hall. Then this hunched guardian straightened its back, raised its head, and said, "Anruida, you are the true sinner of the Poison Fire Green Flame World!"
The moment the guardian's words fell, a low roar filled with fury and unwillingness sounded within the temple.
The originally dim temple was instantly illuminated by a burst of red and green firelight.
Before the guardian, which stood only several meters tall, a colossal creature hundreds of meters in height, its body pressed against the temple ceiling, glared down with vicious shining eyes at the guardian below, who was as insignificant as an ant.
A height of several hundred meters was naturally not Poison Flame Demon King Anruida's complete form.
When it had clashed head-on with the Elemental Giant transformed from by the Level-5 Magician Gagaru, the Poison Flame Demon King had expanded its body to as much as three thousand meters.
Compared to then, the Poison Flame Demon King was clearly in a far more bedraggled state now.
The red and green radiance filling the temple came from Anruida's skin and feathers.
Ferocious scars of exposed flesh covered every corner of Anruida's body.
Even one of the wings on its back appeared to have been forcibly snapped by an external force.
"You want to pin the cause of defeat entirely on me?" Anruida let out a low, owl-like cry. The two jet-black shining eyes in its head fixed viciously on the guardian, as though it would devour and chew it to pieces the next second.
The guardian did not fear Anruida's gaze. In truth, no guardian of any world had anything to fear.
They had already dedicated their bodies and minds to their Mother Planes. Compared with their own lives, the safety of their Mother Planes was clearly far more important to these guardians.
"It was you who brought the Nesser Civilization and the Wizard World here!"
"It was also you who made our Mother Plane suffer the torment of foreign power invasion for tens of thousands of years!" the guardian said, neither servile nor overbearing.
As a guardian, its vision naturally extended further than that of ordinary Flame Creatures in the Poison Fire Green Flame World.
Even though the Poison Fire Green Flame World had already been sealed off by Wizard Civilization legions, the guardian could still learn of the conditions in several other Plane Worlds in the nearby Star Realm through certain channels.
Especially those Alien Worlds that had communicated and maintained contact with the Poison Fire Green Flame World in its early years.
Among those worlds, the planes that had not colluded with the Nesser Civilization had now begun the process of joining the Wizard Alliance.
Although joining the Wizard Alliance was not necessarily a good thing, it was certainly better than the Poison Fire Green Flame World's current plight.
As for how the current guardian, whose lifespan was merely two thousand years, knew that the Poison Fire Green Flame World had endured the misery of foreign power invasion for tens of thousands of years—
Naturally, after becoming a guardian, it had learned through communicating with the Plane Will exactly what Poison Flame Demon King Anruida had done over the past tens of thousands of years.
To put it bluntly, if the Poison Flame Demon King had not brought so much construct scrap to the Poison Fire Green Flame World, the Plane Barrier of the Poison Fire Green Flame World could never have been so fragile. Its species diversity and overall prosperity would also have far surpassed what they were now.
And Azure Glaze, the special mineral resource that had been the Wizard Civilization's initial target in invading the Poison Fire Green Flame World, had not existed in the Poison Fire Green Flame World tens of thousands of years ago.
Ever since Poison Flame Demon King Anruida had reached a cooperation agreement with the Nesser Civilization, a constant stream of construct scrap had been transported to the Poison Fire Green Flame World for destruction. Only under the effects of magma power and this world's unique law power had this rather unusual resource gradually emerged.
The guardian was right! Poison Flame Demon King Anruida was the sinner behind it all. Without what it had done, how could the Poison Fire Green Flame World have fallen to such a state?
"You want to flee the Mother Plane?" The guardian gave a cold laugh, raising its head toward this Level-5 Creature that had fallen into a hysterical state.
There have been fewer matters at home these past few days, so I've decided to update five times a day as thanks for everyone's support and concern during this time!
