The war on the Glan Plain was merely one corner of the entire Faelun Continent battlefield.
In fact, even the offensive front commanded by Saine was not limited to the Glan Plain alone.
As the battle on Saine's side neared its end,
reports from the other battlefields also arrived one after another.
Overall, they still held an absolute advantage.
Having thoroughly investigated every detail of Faelun Continent beforehand, Saine and the other Wizard Civilization invaders truly could not imagine what new tricks the native gods of Faelun Continent could still pull.
The only forces whose strength remained unclear were the ancient gods slumbering in the Northernmost Land.
However, like Ao, the God Above Gods, those ancient gods were targets Wizard Civilization would only consider taking the initiative against at the very end.
It was rather strange. The expeditionary force led by Saine and the others had broken out of Purgatory Space some time ago.
They had successively clashed with two Dominator-class beings, the God of Justice and Lady of the Night.
Yet Ao, the God Above Gods, still seemed to have vanished without a trace. He had never appeared on Faelun Continent, and no one knew where he was hiding.
Saine had great faith in Master Naige'er's methods.
That fellow Ao definitely could not escape.
Since Ao had never appeared to fight, Rogge had not acted rashly either. He had remained hidden in the shadows all along.
Saine had heard that Rogge's primary focus was the Ruins of the Gods in northern Faelun Continent.
From the looks of it, Ao was most likely there.
"Is that so? That God of White Bone fellow still managed to escape?"
After the phase of war ended, Saine listened as Tourmaline and the others returned to the fortress base and reported their results.
At this moment, Tourmaline casually hopped onto Saine's lap as though they had long been acquainted.
Saine sat before a Magic Book desk, reviewing the gains and losses sustained by the various legions under his command across Faelun Continent in recent times.
Saine himself did not feel much about the God of White Bone escaping with his life.
To him, the God of White Bone's situation was clearly far inferior in importance to the war data before his eyes.
Tourmaline was still recounting her experiences on the battlefield.
>
The battlefield where Tourmaline and the others had previously fought lay roughly south of the Glan Plain, in a boundless primeval forest.
Judging from the terrain, it was unsuitable for large-scale legion battles.
But there was no helping it. On Faelun Continent, many battlefields were not for invaders like Saine and the others to choose.
This was also an advantage possessed by the home side.
Within that forest, besides the Dark Alliance legions, there were also many gods from the Wings of Nature Faction, as well as some gods from independent factions.
Faced with the threat of the Wizard Civilization army led by Saine, the gods of Faelun Continent finally displayed their united side.
Even those independent-faction gods whom Saine and the others had not originally intended to target joined this war of resistance against the invasion one after another.
They caused quite a bit of trouble for Saine and the other Wizard Civilization powerhouses.
Tourmaline remained as lively as ever. Saine, who spent all year immersed in laboratories pursuing Truth, sometimes needed such a lively and adorable young girl to brighten the mood.
"Although that skeleton-like fellow ran away, we smashed his bone dragon mount."
"Look, Saine. I smashed this bone dragon myself, and I promised to give this dragon bone to Luo." Tourmaline held it up in both hands as though presenting a treasure for Saine to see.
In Tourmaline's hands was a dragon head that had been fixed and shrunk down.
The dragons of Faelun Continent were not even from the same bloodline as the dragon heritage possessed by Tourmaline.
Thus, after smashing that bone dragon and taking its skull as loot, Tourmaline did not feel the slightest pressure.
Luo possessed a Ghost Carriage that elder members of the Immortal Domain Dragon Race had gifted to Saine long ago.
Her experiences in the civilization war, along with her recovery and growth in the large Alliance Plane known as the Netherworld, had left Luo with several million Undead Legion troops following her. That Ghost Carriage had become a true "undead war chariot."
The bone dragon skull in Tourmaline's hands could now serve as another Artifact Spirit for Luo's undead war chariot.
Saine seemed to foresee Luo riding into battle atop a fifth-level bone dragon, surrounded by millions, perhaps even more, undead troops.
He could not help but sigh. The little girl who had once clung to his arm and called him Brother had finally grown up.
Because she maintained a "sibling relationship" with Saine, Luo held a rather special status within the Land of Ashes faction.
The little girl was somewhat shy around strangers and rarely took the initiative to approach outsiders.
Yet whether they were gods of Alliance Planes attached to Saine or native knights and magicians of the Land of Ashes, none dared look down on Luo.
Even Lina, Meili, Nataya, and the other women treated Luo completely as though she were their own little sister.
Tourmaline even patted her chest and proclaimed herself the "eldest sister," saying she would look after Luo.
Saine glanced at the dragon bone Tourmaline held up, then said, "I'll refine this for you later. Then you can bring it to Luo for her to use."
"The native gods of Faelun Continent are not completely without the strength to resist."
"Although we currently hold the advantage and are advancing across every front, we still cannot let down our guard completely."
"Up to now, quite a few Wizard Civilization powerhouses above Level Four have also fallen in this war," Saine reminded Tourmaline.
"I understand, Saine." Tourmaline raised her head as she spoke and handed the dragon bone to Saine.
The tens of thousands of years he had spent in Despair World had directly turned Saine into a jack-of-all-trades.
He could now refine even undead Magic Conductors with effortless skill.
To be honest, if time and energy permitted, and if Saine had become a pure alchemist like his Senior Brother Zorro,
he alone could have supplied all the equipment needed by that group of followers under his command.
Only after lingering with Saine for a while longer did Tourmaline skip away cheerfully.
Saine, meanwhile, continued examining the battle reports before him.
The number of Wizard Civilization powerhouses above Level Four who had fallen or suffered severe injuries was not high.
Therefore, it did not hinder Saine and the others' War Plan to continue conquering Faelun Continent.
In the face of Wizard Civilization's invasion and conquest, Faelun Continent also displayed its resilient side.
Besides Lady of the Night and the God of Elements, two newly advanced Dominators, a large number of newly advanced gods had emerged on Faelun Continent over the past several decades.
Of course, the rate at which New Gods were born was far lower than the rate at which old gods fell.
In just over a dozen years, the main force led by Saine had driven deep southward, cutting across half the diameter of Faelun Continent's territory.
Over these years, "stars" had almost never stopped falling from the sky.
The gods were drawing their curtains; a New Era was beginning.
For Faelun Continent, no one knew whether that was ultimately good or bad.
It was also in the thirty-second year after Saine and the others launched their full-scale conquest of Faelun Continent that the Level Eight True Spirit Magician Naige'er finally squeezed his way into this world.
He took even longer than Rogge had, enough to demonstrate both Naige'er's formidable strength and the degree to which the main Plane Will of Faelun Continent rejected him.
On the day Naige'er descended, a Jet-Black rain covered nearly one-third of Faelun Continent and poured down in torrents.
It was as though the entire plane were weeping.
"Whew! Whew!" Naige'er panted heavily. Having finally descended into Purgatory Space, he looked upon this world brimming with vitality and its blood-red purgatory sky, then let out a sinister cackle. "Faelun Continent, I have arrived."
When Naige'er descended upon Faelun Continent, numerous high-ranking purgatory demons, including Blood War Lord Lev Tolstoy and Succubus Queen Anna Karenina,
knelt on one knee before the Space-Time Channel at Demon Mountain, bowing in submission to Naige'er as he entered it.
With so many demons gazing up at him, Naige'er seemed to be cast as a demon who brought destruction upon this world.
In truth, Naige'er indeed fit the image and conduct of a demon.
