The star region where Saine and the others were temporarily stationed was known as the Chaos Sea Star Territory.
This was a Medium Star Region within Wizard Civilization territory, not the same thing as the "Chaos Void" on the Immortal Domain Battlefield.
Conducting staggered resistance had long been a civilization tactic formulated by Wizard Civilization's upper echelon. Naturally, Saine and the others could not truly collapse in a thousand-mile rout beneath the Evil Tide Army's pursuit.
However, what left Saine and the other Wizard Civilization higher-ups slightly uneasy was that not long after arriving in the Chaos Sea Star Territory, the Spring Ancestor had ended its fused state with its many subsidiary springs.
Sure enough, this fused state could not last very long.
According to what the Spring Ancestor had told Saine and the others, when the next wave of Evil Tide attacks arrived, the Spring Ancestor might truly be unable to enter that fused state again.
And in truth, the scouting forces Saine and the others had left behind as rearguard had already detected the pursuing movements of the Evil Tide Legion long ago.
