When the Absolute Vine Treant withdrew of his own accord, Saine did not pursue him.
Only the Absolute Vine Treant's long-range attacks had withdrawn. In fact, his main body had not moved at all since entering the Land of Exile battlefield.
Trading long-range attacks with someone like him was hardly a wise choice.
It was not that Saine could not suppress him, but that even doing so would accomplish little.
The Absolute Vine Treant was sustained by the vast energy reserves of the Dreadful Treant World behind him, and even the Nightmare Star Territory beyond it. Even with the energy in the Magic Cube supporting him, Saine would achieve nothing by continuing a battle of attrition.
To kill the Absolute Vine Treant, they would first have to advance the frontline.
"With the Absolute Vine Treant's reserves, killing him will be no easy feat. We'll have to push the frontline forward first."
"Only by bringing the war right up to his main body, then calling on every Dominator on the battlefield—and even the middle- and lower-level creatures—to help excavate and destroy his root system will we have any chance of eliminating this level-9 being at the source!"
"Killing the Absolute Vine Treant may require the strength of the entire Mechanical Civilization and every Dominator participating in the war. It's certainly not something I can accomplish alone," Saine said with a sigh as he gazed toward the distant location of the Absolute Vine Treant's main body.
The battle between level-9 beings came to a temporary halt.
Nor did every expert on the Wizard Civilization's side need to take part in surrounding and killing the Dark Empire's other elite Dominators on the nearby battlefields.
Master Naige'er, for instance, had come before Saine carrying the two greatest spoils from this battlefield.
