Just as Saine led the Mechanical Civilization Army in a surprise raid on the Main Camp under Agulos of Evil Swamp Time-Space, Agulos himself—the central aggrieved party in this incident—was at the frontline of the Dimensional Battlefield in Gear Time-Space, locked in an intense contest with a Level-12 Gear Being shaped like a colossal castle.
A clash between Level-12 Strong Practitioners was inherently a collision of Dimensional Rules and a drain on Source Power. Victory could never be decided in a short time.
Over the years, Agulos had reaped abundant gains in his campaigns through Gear Time-Space. Especially after gradually pruning away its many Top-Level Civilizations, the wealth of Dimension War he had plundered was not much less than that of the Heavenly Wing Demon Lord.
Yet several centuries ago, when he learned that the Heavenly Wing Demon Lord had completed his strategic deployment ahead of schedule, thoroughly occupied the entire Azure Mountain Civilization, and even obtained the Dimension Supreme Treasure known as the "Spine of Azure Mountain," waves of imbalance and jealousy had inevitably risen in his heart.
Normally, Agulos and the Heavenly Wing Demon Lord appeared to have a fairly decent relationship. They could be called "brothers on the surface."
Whenever they met, they would converse amicably, and they occasionally cooperated in Dimension Wars to divide up benefits.
But beneath the surface, undercurrents had long surged between them. They competed against one another and simply could not stand seeing the other prosper more smoothly than himself.
What was more, they had a history of mutually beneficial cooperation, but they had also tripped each other up in the shadows more than once, digging pits and laying schemes for one another.
