The God of Machines' metal finger finally stopped before the trunk of the Ancient Tree of the Moon.

Saine did not touch it immediately.

The state of this ancient tree was far too special.

It was both a life and a coordinate.

It was both a prisoner and some kind of fixed object between the Bronze Gate and this space-time tunnel.

When the three sampling units approached the Ancient Tree of the Moon, an extremely faint moon-white glow lit up within those dark, sunken cracks on the bark's surface, just as expected.

It was not rejection.

It was more like recognition.
