Inside the seal, the Fragment Star Emperor had shrunk considerably.
Its translucent black wings, once capable of stirring vast swaths of Destruction Crystal Tide, had been reduced to small sections near their roots. The wound in its abdomen ran almost through its entire body, and the Power of Destruction still seeped from it even without anyone drawing more out.
Saine had the nearby Mechanical Units adjust the seal to keep that escaping power contained for the time being.
A wisp of Locke's Destruction Will entered with it.
The Fragment Star Emperor, which had been lying at the bottom of the seal, immediately raised its damaged head.
It did not attack the wisp of Black-Red Flames. Instead, it instinctively edged closer.
Then a trace of the Origin of Destruction refined by Locke slowly settled near the wound in its abdomen.
The dark-gold radiance flowing from the wound finally dimmed a little.
The Fragment Star Emperor lay down again.
"Keep it at this level for now," Saine said.
The rule energy the Fragment Star Emperor had left was barely enough to sustain a Level-11 Life Level. Its original source structure was damaged in several places. If those breaches kept widening, it might well fall to Level-10.
But pouring more power directly into it might not help either.
Locke had severed only the main channels the Destruction Supreme used to extract its source. The old connections remaining inside the Fragment Star Emperor had not all vanished.
Until they had sorted out those connections, replenishing its power could make the next round of extraction all the easier.
Locke did not object to Saine's suggestion.
This Destruction Creature had once possessed Level-12 Mid-Stage power. Now it could not even withstand some of the Destruction Legions on the front line.
But it still held something else.
