Overhead, energy beams streaked forth with a whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
By the time Saine left the Space Fortress and entered the Frontline Battlefield, the war had already begun.
And from the very outset, it showed signs of reaching a white-hot fever pitch.
Multicolored Energy Beams dyed the sky's original hues into something bizarre and dazzling.
Half of those energy rays came from the Wild Gorilla World's Frontline Position, while the other half came from the concentrated volley of Magic Guided Cannons aboard the Wizard World's Space Fortresses.
This was also what puzzled Saine.
During the previous battles against the Wild Gorilla Legion, this Mid-Level World Civilization had indeed displayed a degree of energy-utilization technology, but it had never been anything as exaggerated as this.
They could actually trade blows on equal footing with the Space Fortresses, Light Prism Fortresses, War Airships, and other war platforms in the Wizard World's skies?
If Wild Gorilla World had displayed such momentum earlier, the price paid by the Wizard Civilization army to breach and seize the space crack would have been far greater than before.
At the edge of Saine's vision, a vast steel Great Wall of silver metal sheen came into sight.
Having been immersed in experimental research for more than a month, Saine had not known that these Wild Gorillas had erected such a steel frontline in so short a time.
No wonder the Wizard World legions had launched their fierce assault so decisively. If they waited a few more months and let these fellows keep building, who knew what kind of outrageous defensive mechanisms these Wild Gorillas—whom Saine had once considered simple-minded—would come up with.
The metal Great Wall before him and the energy rays continuously streaking through the sky reminded Saine of the scenes from the Poison Fire Green Flame
