After the lightning, "Crash!" Rain poured down from the sky.
If it had begun as a torrential downpour, then by the latter half of the night, it had turned directly into a rainstorm!
The little wooden cabin Saine was in was clearly not built from particularly sturdy materials.
The icy rainwater had struck Saine in the face from the very start, seeping through the broken glass in the window.
Later on, rainwater flooded the entire room.
Saine felt as though the broken bed he lay on had risen a little in elevation.
It even swayed like a boat.
The girl who had originally been kneeling beside Saine's bed also climbed onto it.
Her body was so frail that when she squeezed beneath Saine's blanket, he could faintly feel her trembling and her cold skin.
Unable to determine exactly what was happening before him, Saine could only pray that the floodwaters would not drown them.
Though Saine would not drown, given his current physical condition, it was best not to endure such an ordeal.
His weakened body, coupled with the faint suppressive force emanating from the entire plane, had left him weak to the extreme.
With what little Mental Strength he had left, Saine considered whether he should cast the simplest Air Shield.
Since the water had not yet completely risen over them, Saine ultimately abandoned the idea.
He worried that his magic power would be just enough to cast an Air Shield, only for the collapsing ceiling to strike him immediately afterward.
He would have to adapt to circumstances.
Closing his eyes again, Saine entered Shallow Meditation.
Only by recovering his strength as quickly as possible could he escape this predicament.
Besides, how could the danger at Saine's side compare to the rain outside the window and the constantly swaying
