Song Ren felt a bit bewildered by her laughter.
He withdrew his gaze, simultaneously adding a two-word evaluation of her in his mind.
Crazy.
Cai Shuang Yu also noticed her best friend's subtle movement. She turned her head to glance at Song Ren, then immediately looked away.
Just ordinary.
She leaned against her best friend, whispering something to her.
Song Ren had no intention of striking up a conversation. He simply sat in his seat and slowly finished his drink.
Then, as he stood up to leave, a sharp crack suddenly echoed from the direction of the dance floor.
Immediately, the venue became somewhat noisy.
In a corner of the dance floor, Ah Wah crouched on the ground, clutching his bleeding forehead in pain.
Shattered glass from a wine bottle lay scattered at his feet, already covering the ground.
Yau Kong Ngau and the others immediately rushed over. Two of them helped examine Ah Wah's wound.
Yau Kong Ngau, however, abruptly turned his head, his gaze dark and unfocused as he looked towards a booth in the northwest corner.
The wine bottle had been thrown from there.
And in that booth sat about ten rough-looking men.
The man sitting in the center wore a black shirt, unbuttoned at the chest, revealing a faintly visible wolf's head tattoo that looked incredibly ferocious through the shirt's collar.
When Yau Kong Ngau saw the man's face, his pupils contracted violently.
Wang Kun!
It was Wang Kun!!!
One of the main culprits who had caused their entire team to be imprisoned several years ago. Everything had started because of him.
He hadn't expected this bastard to still be living so comfortably after all these years!
Thinking of the tragic experiences his brothers had endured in prison, Yau Kong Ngau felt he could barely contain himself.
Wang Kun stood up from the booth, a manic grin on his face. "My apologies, my apologies, Ah Sirs. My guy's hand slipped."
As he said this, he seemed to remember something and suddenly reacted, letting out a strange laugh.
"Oh, wait, I almost forgot. Former Ah Sirs."
His odd, mocking tone caused the surrounding crowd of men and women to erupt in laughter.
Young Master, Mok Yik Chuen, and Bao Zhu were immediately angered.
"What did you say!"
"You bastard, are you looking for death!"
"Screw you!"
Siu Jai Ming also recognized the man and immediately cursed, "Wang Kun, you son of a bitch!"
The group shared a common hatred, their faces contorted with rage. But just as they were about to make a move, Yau Kong Ngau stopped them.
The atmosphere in the venue, however, had become increasingly tense.
Wang Kun's companions in the booth, as well as those in the adjacent seats, all stood up with a whoosh. Every single one of them had a ferocious look on their faces.
Wang Kun stepped forward, still holding a beer glass.
He walked up to Yau Kong Ngau and gave him a strange smile. "Former Ah Sirs, what you just said was very scary."
Wang Kun's gaze swept over Yau Kong Ngau's team, then his tone became arrogant. "My guy's hand slipped, and the wine bottle accidentally hit you. Truly sorry."
He then leaned in as if in confusion. "By the way, Former Ah Sir, as former elite police officers, I have a question for you—"
"A slip of the hand isn't a crime, is it?"
Young Master, Bao Zhu, and the others were flushed with anger, wishing they could tear this scoundrel apart on the spot.
But Yau Kong Ngau still held up his hand to stop them.
Fighting here, regardless of whether they would win or lose, would bring too much trouble afterwards.
They had only just been released from prison and didn't want to be arrested again.
However, Wang Kun's words undoubtedly intensified Yau Kong Ngau's murderous intent towards him.
Wang Kun seemed oblivious, his attitude still arrogant. Seeing Yau Kong Ngau's restraint, he immediately shouted in exasperation:
"Hey! Cat got your tongue? Speak up!"
"Damn it, I'm asking you if a slip of the hand is illegal!"
Wang Kun vigorously ran his hand through his hair and cursed, "Damn it! You all consider yourselves police elites, yet you don't even know this. I'm truly ashamed for you."
At the bar
Li Yuyao held the fruit wine and leaned curiously towards Cai Shuang Yu.
"That guy is one of yours from Wo Kee, right?"
"He's so arrogant."
Cai Shuang Yu nodded, not saying much, just watching from the side with a cold gaze.
Until a figure suddenly stepped out from not far beside her.
Cai Shuang Yu blinked in surprise.
Li Yuyao also let out a soft "Oh?"
Immediately, Song Ren began to walk faster and faster, eventually breaking into a run.
He suddenly leaped up, soaring over a long table, and with a reverse-hook kick, heavily struck Wang Kun's neck, catching him completely off guard.
Wang Kun instantly lost his balance, his head smashing through the glass of the table in front of him with a loud bang.
Blood immediately gushed from his forehead.
He clutched his head in pain, letting out a loud howl.
Song Ren had already regained his footing and said mockingly, "My hand slipping isn't illegal, but it makes me want to do illegal things to you."
As soon as he finished speaking, several nearby booths, a total of over a dozen people, surrounded him, each clutching a wine bottle or a stool from the tables.
They swarmed in, exuding an intimidating aura, curses flying non-stop.
"Fuck you, who the hell are you!"
"Are you looking to die!"
"You piece of shit, you dare to hit Brother Kun, we'll finish you tonight!"
"Son of a bitch! Cut him down!"
Wang Kun got up from the ground, one hand covering his bleeding forehead, the other clutching his numb, aching neck.
His gaze swept over Song Ren, immediately filled with malice.
"Damn it, do you know whose turf this is?"
"Do you know who I am!"
"You dare to touch me, even the Queen Mother can't save you tonight!"
"I, Wang Kun, say so!"
Song Ren couldn't be bothered to waste words with these people. If it weren't a public place, that kick wouldn't have been so simple.
Since he had left Qiu Gang Ao's group, he had no intention of letting Wang Kun's group off the hook.
He felt no sympathy for scum like Wang Kun who peddled drugs everywhere.
The nightclub was clearly experienced with brawls.
The onlookers immediately parted, clearing a large space.
At the bar
Cai Shuang Yu and Li Yuyao were still sitting together.
Li Yuyao's eyes lit up. "Wow, that kick just now, Shuang Yu, did you see it? It was incredibly cool!"
Cai Shuang Yu replied calmly, "It was alright. Looking at his footwork when he moved, he seems like someone who knows martial arts."
Li Yuyao was quite curious and couldn't help but ask, "Are you going to intervene?"
"Isn't that Wang Kun one of yours from Wo Kee?"
Cai Shuang Yu said, "Let's see for now. I don't know him well. He's the Mong Kok leader chosen by Uncle Zhong, and his business mainly involves drug dens."
"But you know, I've never touched that kind of business."
Li Yuyao immediately asked, "When I said intervene, I meant, do you want to help that handsome guy?"
"After all, there are only a few of them."
"..." Cai Shuang Yu:
"Is your brain short-circuited? Me not intervening is the biggest help I can give him, and you want me to help him?"
