Two slender figures were trekking south along a road that had stretched across this land for 7,400 years.
The Righteous Walkers had long ago built roads that made travel convenient for ordinary people.

On the Roads of Righteousness, the two slender figures passed the refugees heading in the opposite direction.
But unlike ordinary people, whenever mountains or rivers forced the roads to turn, they did not follow the winding paths. Instead, they crossed mountains and forded rivers, cutting straight through.
By the time another day had passed.
At the hour when the sun should have been setting, the two arrived at the summit of the Yan Mountains south of the City of Law.
At the peak of this 4,300-meter Mountain Peak.
The two people searching for the ancient wizard's tomb stood shoulder to shoulder, looking up at the black canopy of the sky, where that stretch of eternal night seemed close enough to touch.
