Manifestation of Rules
The storm receded at sea, and the sky was cloudless.
The bright sunlight shone on the dark sea, making it appear like black jade, but it could not bring warmth.
The malice of the dead now hangs over the sea, and endless resentment transforms into a haze that permeates the area.
On a lonely little boat.
Young Wala Wala took the violin from Linsey.
Her azure eyes swept around, and though her young face was still quite innocent, there was not a trace of fear in it.
A passionate soul radiates confidence and light within her:
"Yes, no problem!"
"We don't have many Essence that we can mobilize, but we have pure music, so we can give it a try!"
Young Wala Wala raised her little hand.
She skillfully rested the violin on her shoulder and plucked the first string.
Soft music began to play, but it did not possess the magical power to bring the world to a standstill at that moment.
The music began as gentle as a breeze.
It possessed a resilience that was delicate yet unyielding, unable to deter the approaching figures of the undead.
Pale Ghost surged forward.
They traversed a distance of about a hundred meters in an instant, and the sea around the ship was almost completely filled with them.
"..."
Linsey and Ala Song on the ship were on high alert.
The latter took out his paintbrush, mobilized his Essence, and was ready to construct his technique at any time.
The former, however, shifted their attention to their luggage.
Linsey has another idea – [Sunlight Essence].
The Glorious Sunflower can absorb and condense the power of the sun, and the essence it condenses also possesses the Sunfire Power.
These sea spirits are undoubtedly beings of the Yin attribute.
If the [Sunlight Essence] is detonated, it will definitely cause them great damage.
The dead are approaching, and malice is rampant.
Linsey looked at the pale, menacing Pale Ghost around her and was ready to make her move.
But just then, the melody played by Wala Wala gradually rose and became more and more captivating.
The girl did not use any skills.
In the pure musical performance, the violin on her shoulder seemed to come alive, and the melody it emitted contained the power of music.
Listen carefully.
The beautiful music is like the gentle dream of everyone's childhood, touching the heartstrings unintentionally.
"..."
"They stopped."
One by one, lost souls recall the beautiful memories of their past lives.
One by one they stopped attacking, some even slowly disappearing into the sea, as if searching for some kind of final peace.
A piece of music, three to five minutes long.
The last gentle note dissipated into the air.
The numerous Pale Ghost on the sea surface also disappeared, with only a few more solidified spirits still floating on the sea.
But at this moment, their ferocity, which had been aroused, also disappeared.
Instead, he looked at the ship with a calm and peaceful gaze.
Seeing this, Wala Wala smiled confidently. Holding her violin, she bowed to those around her, like an actor bowing to the audience below the stage.
"Thank you! Thank you all for your appreciation!"
The emotions expressed in the Wala Wala" were genuine.
She genuinely expressed respect for her audience, whether they were alive or dead.
Linsey took the violin from Wala Wala's hands.
He cautiously activated his skill, surveyed the surrounding undead, and the corresponding information appeared before his eyes.
[The Unwilling Soul —the spirits born from Miserable Soul —are currently in a state of tranquility.]
"..."
"Is this all an artist can do?"
Linsey sighed inwardly.
Even though Wala Wala is currently small in stature and does not have the Essence of the Sixth Stage as a backing.
But as long as this honed skill remains in your hands.
There is still a chance to achieve such a miracle.
After the souls lost at sea were soothed by the music of "Wala Wala," the ship continued its journey into the distance, carried by the current and the Wind of Freedom.
But these remaining souls did not completely disappear like their kind.
The pale shadows on the sea surface, like the tail of a comet, trailed far across the water as the ship cut through the waves, like believers on a pilgrimage.
Linsey naturally looked back with a wary attitude.
These spirits were soothed by the music.
But no one can guarantee when they will revert to their original dangerous state.
A few minutes later, some people on the boat couldn't sit still anymore.
Wala Wala greatly admired these spirits who were moved by his music.
She lay on the roof of the boat and waved her little hand behind her:
"Hey, can it talk?"
"What are you trying to do by chasing me all this way?"
"..."
The souls that have been calmed down also possess normal cognitive abilities.
Hearing the call of the Wala Wala, they followed and, very politely, did not board the ship, but instead huddled around the stern.
A hollow, hoarse voice echoed from among the dead:
"It's very dangerous ahead."
"My princess, you'd better not sail in this direction any further."
"..."
The spirit's words caused a moment of silence on the ship.
Linsey three of them looked at each other, their emotions a mixture of joy and worry.
This news confirms that their flight path was correct.
But it also directly reveals that beyond the storm, dangers still lurk far out at sea.
Wala Wala asked the spirits:
"Can you tell me what the dangers are there?"
The undead immediately spoke:
"That's a Deep Sea Behemoth."
"The ruler of the world commands it to guard the Central Great Vortex, which will tear apart and devour anything that comes close to the past."
Wala Wala opened her eyes wide and looked at Linsey behind her:
"It really is that whirlpool!"
"But, torn apart and devoured... Linsey, my original body couldn't have already been..."
Linsey shook her head directly, interrupting Wala Wala's conjecture:
"Don't worry, you're definitely still alive."
"Since that guy went to such lengths to bring you here, he certainly didn't do it just to kill you."
Wala Wala asked in confusion:
"So what do you think her purpose is?"
"..."
Linsey fell silent for a moment.
An awakened being at stage 8 can see through the script and guess the other party's identity, but is powerless to achieve their goal.
Just as Linsey and Wala Wala fell silent.
Ala Song, standing nearby, had an idea. He immediately asked Wala Wala:
"Wala Wala, you just advanced to the Sixth Stage, that's correct, right?"
Wala Wala nodded naturally:
"That's right, is there a problem with that?"
Ala Song then began to explain:
"I have traveled around the world."
"It may not be entirely accurate and is rather general, but from a broader perspective, it offers some insights into the awakening of artistic memories."
"In the first stage, people come into contact with the Essence and clarify their path; in the Second Stage, they integrate with the Essence and develop their skills; in the Third Stage, the first truly extraordinary skill is completed; in the Fourth Stage, it is a deeper exploration of abilities; in the Fifth Stage, the concept of skill is transformed, so this stage is also known as the Ascender."
Ala Song spoke at length.
He paused deliberately at this point to indicate the importance of what followed:
"The Sixth Stage is the sublimation of concepts and the Manifestation of Rules; the Seventh Stage is to use one's own skills to subvert the laws of the Real World and form the initial one."
The one-armed painter concluded:
"You were in Sixth Stage when that Fallen Artist dragged you in."
"I think it's because your own Manifestation of Rules that you satisfied some of the other person's needs!"
