An Artisan's Morning
Early in the morning.
The young craftsman Qiao Er took out the plank he had dropped the night before and planed it flat on the Workbench.
With the help of his craftsmanship, he could do it both quickly and well.
He finished his work in no time.
Qiao Er wiped the sweat from his forehead, and only after confirming that his still-sleeping mentor wouldn't hit him on the head for the work he'd missed yesterday did he breathe a sigh of relief and take off his brown apron.
Sitting at his Workbench, Qiao Er poured himself a glass of hot water and took a blissful sip.
He lingered there tenderly for quite a while.
When the water in his hand had cooled down, he suddenly remembered something important!
"Ah!"
Qiao Er suddenly stood up.
He casually tossed the water glass onto the table, almost spilling the water inside.
Qiao Er quickly straightened the cup and went to the front hall of the Artisan's Cottage to change into his outdoor clothes.
"I almost forgot, I still need to water the flowers!"
"I wonder how Linsey felt using my arrows. I heard from Sister Dan that she even used one to kill a Devil Beast."
"Hehehe..."
Thinking about this, Qiao Er couldn't help but laugh.
But the smile only lasted a moment before the young craftsman's face darkened.
The Expedition Team set off more than twenty days ago.
Dan, Alan, and Ju also returned more than ten days ago.
Meanwhile, two of the three were seriously injured. Although they have been treated by the town's doctor and are now mostly able to move around, they will not be able to participate in hunting or patrolling activities as before for the time being.
Moreover, according to what Ju said.
Linsey was actually quite badly injured in that operation; her arms were initially even difficult to move! "If it were me..."
"Nothing would allow Linsey to take such a risk alone in that situation."
From a craftsman's perspective, Qiao Er was somewhat dissatisfied with Dan's judgment. Then, thinking about how he had encouraged Linsey to go to the Black Mountain, he shook his head with a conflicted expression.
Finally, Qiao Er arrived at the south side of town.
He opened the door to the botanist's cabin, or rather, to Linsey's cabin.
Inside the last Glass Greenhouse in the building.
The notes on caring for the plants were placed on the most conspicuous Yellow Wood Table at the entrance.
Qiao Er probably still remembered which plants he needed to water today.
But to ensure no mistakes were made, he still carefully opened his notebook, checked the records, and then precisely quantified the amount of water to the corresponding plants. Finally, he buried a few black granular fertilizer particles in the soil.
Having fulfilled his friend's request, Qiao Er looked up at the sky.
Through the glass walls of the greenhouse, he could see the sun rising just above the eastern horizon.
The old man in my family won't wake up until almost noon, so I still have plenty of time.
The young craftsman had a plan in mind.
He placed his plant care notes on the table next to him and then turned and went into the study.
"Let me think... I saw it somewhere the day before yesterday."
Qiao Er stopped in front of the bookshelf and quickly found a collection of stories.
He wasn't interested in the other books in the study, but he was quite fond of these legendary adventure stories.
Sitting down in his chair, Qiao Er began to read with great interest.
Clang—
After some time, Qiao Er, who was reading a book, heard the sound of the front hall door being opened.
"Is that Torch? Today I..." Qiao Er initially thought it was Torch, who lived next door, coming to help out; such things were quite common. But when he walked into the front hall and saw who it was, he was immediately stunned. "Linsey? You're back!"
The person who appeared in the cabin was none other than Linsey, who had been missing for more than twenty days.
This is how things were when we parted more than half a month ago.
Linsey was covered in dust and dirt, her clothes stained with weeds, twigs, and the bodily fluids of dead insects.
At first glance, the only recognizable feature of the person is their freshly washed face.
Qiao Er quickly stepped forward:
Are you alright? I heard you were injured?
"Dan told the town that you went to the Black Mountain World alone and nothing serious happened, right?"
"I did go there, but that place isn't very friendly right now. I need to inform Uncle Anrui about some of the unusual sights I encountered."
Standing in the front hall of Finn's cabin, Linsey understood the moment she saw Qiao Er that he was helping her take care of the plants.
He gave a brief thank you and rushed to the Glass Greenhouse.
He planted the two potato plants he had collected.
He didn't have time to do anything else, so he turned around and walked outside.
Throughout the process, Qiao Er saw Linsey pull two potatoes out of thin air.
The young craftsman was initially surprised, but he soon had an idea:
"Wait... is this spatial ability? Linsey, have you elevated the skills of a merchant? Or... or are you Space Sorcerer?"
As a craftsman.
Qiao Er has learned a lot about crafting and knows the equipment needs of different Awakened.
Among them, the skill level can reach that of Linsey.
Only merchants who possess Goods Space, and Space Sorcerer who have made achievements in the field of space, have this ability.
But if it's Space Sorcerer...
Then the long-closed Hidden Borderlands may be able to open up again!
Did Linsey learn Space Sorcerer from somewhere?
"Could I be seeing things?" Linsey shook her head under Qiao Er's expectant gaze.
He had already demonstrated his exceptional abilities in battle, and there was no longer any need to conceal his improved skills.
"Not either of those professions, Qiao Er."
"I have awakened a rather special ability. It is different from that of a merchant or Space Sorcerer, but it can still provide me with a convenient spatial bag."
As she explained, Linsey walked out of the cabin and headed north of the town.
He rushed back, only managing to say hello to his Godmother, Red Moon, at the town entrance before hurrying over to tend to the potato seedlings. Now he had to go to the Lord's Manor to tell Anrui everything he had seen on the Snowy Wasteland.
These are all things that need to be done quickly; Linsey is really busy right now! Qiao Er noticed Linsey's hurried manner, and although the young craftsman was disappointed, he couldn't help but ask after leaving with Linsey:
"Linsey, what did you see over there?"
"Devil Beast!" Linsey certainly wouldn't hide it from his friend. "There are Devil Beast in the Black Mountain World that want to enter our area, but a cold wind freezes them right there into ice sculptures, so there haven't been any major problems for the past few years."
Upon hearing this, Qiao Er immediately realized the importance of this information. "Wait, the Tree Spirit that controls the Ice Badger..."
Linsey nodded in confirmation of the other party's guess:
"Yes, it should also have come from the Black Mountain, but it was the only lucky one that succeeded."
"..."
Qiao Er followed Linsey, and after thinking for a while, he tentatively asked:
"Linsey, do you still need my help?"
"If there's nothing else, I plan to go home and tell my teacher about this."
Linsey certainly wouldn't hold Qiao Er back:
"I'm not busy here, you should go back quickly."
"We can discuss the specifics later when we have time."
Linsey said goodbye to Qiao Er and walked alone toward the Lord's Manor.
The sun is setting, and it's getting late.
After nearly a month of arduous trekking in the wild and the transplanting of wild potatoes, a new line of text appeared on Linsey's Attribute Panel.
