Linsey and Alvitte leaped down from the sky.

The scorching gale howled past their ears, the temperature quickly rising to a level that could roast a person alive.

The Dragon Beast below also grew ever closer in their sight.

Because it was constantly creating fire-element Elemental Creatures and directing them to attack the islands, the Dragon Beast was no longer wreathed in sun-like flames as it had been when it first arrived.

This instead made it easier for Linsey and Alvitte to approach.

"Roar—"

The Dragon Beast let out a low, furious growl.

Its attention remained fixed on the cluster of floating islands before it as it drove the elemental flames to attack with all its strength.

It was not that the Dragon Beast had failed to notice Linsey and Alvitte approaching.

It simply did not care.

Unlike physically frail humans, its body was covered in sturdy scales, while its surface radiated a lethal heat capable of melting gold and severing iron. With the formidable physique of a Seventh Stage magical beast, this was the most natural—and most despairing—defense.

Thus, in the eyes of this colossal beast, Linsey and Alvitte, two beings who had not reached the Seventh Stage,

were ultimately nothing but ants.

Even if the two had leaped down from the sky in a suicidal attempt, all it had to do was move aside and let them fall into the void below, bidding farewell to the world forever.

Even if it simply hovered in place without moving,

with the protection of its tough dragon scales, it had no fear of these two little ones causing trouble on its body.

Being burned to death by the terrible heat, or jumping down of their own accord to kill themselves, was their fate.
