What War Means
The next morning, Linsey and Anrui got up one after the other.
Both of them are holders of Life Source Material, but because of their different personal habits, they wake up at different times.
So when Anrui got up.
Linsey had already prepared breakfast for the two of them, placing the prepared roast meat in front of him.
Anrui took the roast meat, took a bite, and a smile appeared at the corner of his eye:
"Linsey, your cooking skills are pretty good!"
After expressing his admiration, Anrui casually remarked, "To be able to make such a high-quality dish with such simple ingredients."
"The last time I had this experience was when I was in Nal Kebandek, as a warrior apprentice."
Linsey smiled modestly and scratched her head, "I'm just more comfortable with it because of the hunting activities."
At this point, Linsey recalled their conversation before falling asleep the previous night and casually asked, "Uncle Anrui, when I was learning from you, I only focused on martial arts. I've never heard of any other information about Nal Kebandek. Could you tell me about it?"
Anrui didn't plan to think about traveling while eating.
He then stood the folding stool upright and turned it back into a chair, and while eating his barbecue, he began to tell Linsey his story:
"Didn't I say yesterday that the War School is divided into three branches?"
"I won't go into the Combat Essence, that's what you're learning from me. In short, it's about honing different combat skills. Besides the Combat Essence, there are also the two branches: Defender and Ravager."
"The Defender, as the name suggests, are warriors skilled in defense. In their First Stage of skill enhancement, their bodies become extremely tough; in the Second Stage, they gain Extraordinary Endurance, making it easy for them to sustain long battles; upon advancing to the Third Stage, the Awakened of this branch gain powerful resilience, allowing them to fight as usual even when on the verge of death..."
"As for those Fifth Stage Awakened like me..."
At this point, Anrui was also reminded of his time studying in Nal Kebandek. He didn't even notice the grease from the barbecue dripping onto his legs, and shook his head with a nostalgic smile:
"These Ascender are like an impregnable city wall. Outsiders call them Unbreakable City Wall, and the Sixth Stage Ascender are revered as City-State Guardian."
Linsey continued, following up on the conversation:
"Then there are still Ravager?"
At the mention of the word "Ravager," Anrui's brows furrowed, and his tone lost its previous nostalgia. "Ravager, those guys are the most troublesome Awakened Ones in Nal Kebandek."
" In the First Stage, they will develop powerful offensive capabilities. The skills in the subsequent stages continue to extend along this path, developing offensive capabilities such as finding weaknesses and launching powerful attacks. Until they become Ascender and are promoted to Commander, they can also give powerful enhancements to the armies under their command. Then, the War Lord in the Sixth Stage is a naked war maniac!"
"If it's just that you like fighting, that's fine."
"What's most troublesome is the source of the Ravager ' skills. The sublimation of their abilities requires not only combat, but also continuous fighting and battles, and subsequently, leading their armies to win one war after another!"
Upon hearing Anrui's description, Linsey immediately recognized the danger of this branch of the business, and at the same time, corresponding doubts arose.
He frowned and asked:
"If that's the case, won't the Ravager be constantly waging war?"
"Wouldn't that throw the world into chaos?"
Anrui smiled and shook his head:
"That's what they think, of course."
"But the leader of Nal Kebandek is the Invincible King Daniel, the only clearly identified Ninth Stage awakener in the world today, the holder of the pinnacle of combat skills, and also the leader of our Combat Essence school."
"This contemporary miracle, who has honed his martial arts skills to the highest level, will not allow the Ravager to vent their power at will."
The Ninth Stage of awakened beings...
Linsey had no theoretical understanding of awakened individuals at this stage, and he almost subconsciously murmured:
Just how strong is Ninth Stage Awakened?
Anrui took a big bite of the roasted meat and said in a tone that was both admiring and hopeful:
"Just like his title—Invincible."
"As to the specifics, that's beyond the comprehension of someone like me who's only at the Fifth Stage of Ascender."
Linsey understood this, so she changed the subject:
"Although there is an Invincible King suppressing them from above, for the Ravager, war is clearly the only way to advance."
"In this situation, will they simply accept reality obediently? Won't they resist or develop outside the jurisdiction of the War School?"
"Hahaha--"
Anrui burst out laughing, then shook his head and explained:
"Of course they won't behave themselves."
"Even under Danny's suppression, many Ravager have tried to challenge him in order to unleash their war instincts."
"But unfortunately, no one has succeeded so far."
"As for running away to the outside world..."
By this point, Anrui had finished the grilled meat in his hand, and a mocking smile curled at the corners of his greasy lips:
"The Ravager are those who conquer the world through rampant violence!"
"How can advanced techniques that rely on escaping under the suppression of the strong and merely eke out a living ever reach their ultimate peak!"
"Throughout the history of the entire War School, the highest achievement of the Ravager escaped from Nal Kebandek was only the Seventh Stage of Fear Declaration. This is a path from which there is no turning back."
Anrui recounts the path of the Ravager.
Linsey listened quietly, but didn't have time to think about the tributary's abilities.
Instead, he thought of the Law Knight and Righteous Walker who had led him to the Hidden Borderlands.
The Ravager must continue their rampant acts in order to reach their peak.
So, the Law Knight and the Righteous Walker schools probably also face many restrictions in places Linsey can't see.
Let's trace it back to a deeper level.
This may be the root cause of everything that happened on the night of Harvest Day.
In contrast, consider Life Scholar and the School of Death.
The honing of skills in these two schools stemmed more from the study of knowledge. They lacked the severe constraints of war, hunters, or Law Knight.
These two different branches might allow for a vague division among the Awakened?
Linsey pondered these questions, and ultimately focused on herself.
"Restrictions on Game Player..."
Are there any restrictions if I play the PEGI-7 coloring game?
Linsey shrugged.
He finished his barbecue and then started his journey with Anrui.
Happy National Day everyone!
