"You want to settle down here?"
The Law Knight looked surprised when he heard Linsey's question.
However, when it came to solving the problem, his attitude was rather gentle. He even took the initiative to guess at Linsey's circumstances:
"The outside world is caught up in war. If you want to come to the City of Law during this time, live here, and protect your own safety, of course there's no problem."
As he spoke, the Law Knight led the way ahead.
Linsey followed him for two steps when he heard another question from the man:
"But since you had this idea, why didn't you submit an application at the city gate when you entered the City of Law?"
"That would have been much more convenient than doing it here."

After some thought, he decided to deal with it using an honest yet sufficiently vague explanation:
"When I entered the City of Law, my mind wasn't working very well. I hadn't made up my mind at the time."

He deliberately stopped and patted Linsey on the shoulder in consolation.
"Ah, I understand."
"Living outside, you must have heard that resources within the City of Law are scarce and people are living poorly, so you couldn't make up your mind."
Linsey merely went along with it.
"It is wartime, after all."
The Law Knight leading him shook his head.
"The outside world may be at war, but supplies are plentiful. And if you attach yourself to a Righteous Walker, so long as they do not suffer defeat, it is easy to receive protection."
