After Eris left, Heller stood alone in a narrow alley.
They had originally chosen this place as terrain suited for concealing their movements.
But at this moment, seeing the Angry One heading straight toward him, Heller no longer had any need to hide his tracks.
The Righteous Walker flipped and leaped directly onto the rooftop.
Though the distant night had once again been covered by the Black Mist's heavy curtain,
the furious roars, along with the Source Material filled with enraged will, had become the enemy's most obvious signpost.
"Phew—"
Heller adjusted his breathing.
After the former king's departure, he had voluntarily relinquished all his positions in the City of Law.
But as a Seventh Stage Awakened,
and one trusted by the king, Heller had been exposed to many secrets.
He had great confidence in his memory.
Yet no matter how thoroughly he searched every corner of his mind, he found no impression of this Abyss School.
"During my king's reign, there was never any intelligence concerning this force."

Heller's breathing gradually calmed.
He gripped his longsword before him, gathering his will and thoughts beneath his feet as he stared fixedly at the approaching footsteps.
Each tremor seemed to stomp directly upon the heart.
Even Heller, a Seventh Stage Righteous Walker, sensed his heart beginning to lean toward anger.
"Emotional and willful contagion—"
Facing such an enemy, Heller took a deep breath and began channeling his skill into his body.
