As they walked around, Abel grew more and more delighted the more he saw. This was a family's heritage—Lord Marshall's decades of collecting could not possibly compare with the collections of families that had existed for centuries.
However, as a traditional minor noble family, it had many valuable collections, yet Abel did not find a single Knight Secret Techniques manual. This reflected the scarcity and preciousness of Knight Secret Techniques, while the great nobles' monopoly over them was also a form of protection for their own status.
Abel had no way to estimate the value of everything in the collection room, but based on his experience, Lord Marshall estimated that the total value of all the collections here exceeded 100,000 gold coins.
After touring the room, they reached its innermost area. In a corner sat a round black stone about a meter in diameter.
"What's this?" Abel hurried forward. He was very familiar with the black stone before him. It was one of Master Bentham's most important treasures. He had supposedly obtained it while studying among the Dwarf race. Back then, it had been a piece of Iron Meteorite only the size of a finger, yet even that tiny piece had been treasured by Master Bentham. Whenever he spoke to Abel about it, he always proudly emphasized how rare Iron Meteorite was, and that most of it was in the hands of the Dwarf race.
"Abel, what's wrong? Isn't it just a stone?" Lord Marshall asked in puzzlement when he saw Abel taking such an interest in a stone.
"Uncle Marshall, you call this a stone? If Master Bentham were here, he'd crack your head open." Abel curled his lip at Lord Marshall and laughed.
"If he could beat me, that is. Come on, what is it?" Lord Marshall asked
