The tsunami's impact had severely damaged the shores of Tokyo Bay. However, because Tokyo was large enough, the deeper urban districts were barely affected. The seawater had mostly dispersed through the city's drainage system, leaving only various kinds of silt and debris scattered across the streets.
Large numbers of Sakura Country's citizens also poured into the streets and, at the government's urging, began clearing away the garbage.

But suddenly, a piercing air-raid siren rang out over Tokyo. Its highly penetrating sound reached the ears of the people of Sakura Country, leaving them bewildered as they looked around.
Yet before long, many people of Sakura Country felt the sky darken above their heads, as if night had suddenly fallen.
Above Tokyo's urban district, the six pairs of wings of the Thousand-Hand Centipede spread wide, sweeping across the earth like a black cloud.
One by one, the people of Sakura Country opened their mouths wide and craned their necks to look up. Seeing the Flying Centipede that seemed to have stepped out of mythology, their faces turned ashen.
Boom!
The Thousand-Hand Centipede, flying high above, landed on the 634-meter-tall Tokyo Skytree. The enormous tower could barely withstand the impact. Huge cracks split its walls, and countless massive chunks of reinforced concrete came crashing down from the sky. The people of Sakura Country below screamed as they were struck dead on the spot.
Sunlight shone across the Thousand-Hand Centipede's pitch-black scales, revealing the sheen of indestructible steel. Its muscles were as powerful as mountain rock. With every breath, the winds and clouds of heaven and earth changed color, radiating an overwhelming sense of strength.
