History

Intervention in Zen Country

The Beautiful Country entered the conflict in Zen Country through joint military exercises and support for the Zen Country government’s campaign against the Jieko Group. Its initial expeditionary fleet included Freedom-class littoral combat ships, an amphibious assault ship, Aegis destroyers, support vessels, and roughly 8,000 personnel. 218

It later deployed more than 10,000 soldiers through Yangcheng, supplemented by forces transferred from the Middle East, Japan, and Korea. Its Marines advanced into Fengbo Mountain alongside Zen Country government troops and remnants of Guo Mindeng’s forces. 224

Following the Jieko Group’s attack on Avilson Manor, the CIA established an A-level special affairs bureau under Moritz, while the Beautiful Country imposed sanctions and backed a trade blockade against Jieko-controlled territory. 232 The intervention failed to halt the Jieko Group’s expansion; after Zen Country’s complete occupation, President Lawrence Fernando criticized the intelligence and military failures behind the campaign. 386

Escalating conflict with the Jieko Group

The Beautiful Country continued attempting to contain the Jieko Group through sanctions, intelligence operations, support for regional partners, and military pressure. It assembled a multinational maritime joint fleet of more than 300 combat vessels, multiple aircraft carriers, and hundreds of carrier-based aircraft. Allies were promised a share of Penglai’s benefits if the Jieko Group could be forced away. 695

The operation ended catastrophically when the fleet fired on Penglai Immortal Island. The island awakened and generated a tsunami that destroyed the Beautiful Country-led fleet, including the Eisenhower and Reagan carrier battle groups.
