Dragon Soul and Archimonde

The stalemated war of attrition continued unabated, every elf fighting with blood and steel for their own future and the future of this world.

As always, a stalemate meant failure, and failure meant the end of everything—the Resistance Army had little time left to drag things out.

The Fel Portal at the Well of Eternity grew more stable with each passing day, allowing an increasing number of demons to pass through, and once this gate solidified to a sufficiently powerful energy point, the Dark Titan of the Demon Legion could descend in person.

The world faced a burning apocalypse; it wasn't just the elves fighting desperately—other living beings did the same.

Under General Commander Jarod's call, the foreign races dispatched their most elite forces to aid the battle, all past grudges rendered meaningless at this moment.

The Earthlings, forged entirely of steel, wore tattered hooded cloaks and wielded axes taller than themselves. These ancestors of the dwarves were hot-tempered and fought with reckless abandon, always fond of mocking the elves' tall, slender frames.

Accompanying them was a small group of Mechagnomes, said to hail from the northern continent of Northrend. Unable to bear the dull, monotonous life of guarding the Titan facilities, they had escaped and established their own settlement near the Earthling tribes.

Though the Mechagnomes were incredibly fragile and lacked offensive power, they excelled at crafting various war machines and even strange auxiliary combat tools for themselves, attacking from a distance. Thus, when paired with the elves' ranged units, they could contribute decent combat effectiveness.

As for the Tauren, they sent a sturdy melee force alongside a group of Shaman skilled in healing the wounded.

These honest Tauren from Highmountain, for the sake of this world's future, resolutely dispatched the mightiest warriors from each clan.

One Tauren named Huen Highmountain seemed exceptionally renowned among the Tauren clans, wielding a massive spear and carrying two thick totem poles on his back, looking quite imposing.

Huen declared that he would lead the brave Tauren warriors in an unstoppable great charge against the Burning Legion, fighting all the way to the demons' evil portal, guarding it, and killing every demon that came through.

Well... the Night Elves found this "meticulous" battle plan of the Tauren somewhat amusing.

Hopefully, you can actually pull that off...

On another front, the Dragon Aspects had also begun to act.

Not long ago, in the northern continent of Northrend, the five Dragon Aspects gathered at the Dragonblight Temple and initiated a fateful undertaking.

Each Aspect contributed a portion of their essence to jointly forge an artifact: the Dragon Soul.

This artifact could unleash devastating destructive energy capable of shaking heaven and earth, killing any powerful being in existence.

The dragons and the Night Elf resistance agreed that once the Resistance Army breached the capital Eldorei, the dragons would launch a full-scale assault alongside them, using the Dragon Soul to shatter the Well of Eternity's portal and destroy it forever.

Until then, the Dragon Soul would be entrusted to the most powerful Aspect, Neltharion the Earth-Warder, who would hide it in his lair in Highmountain, where the artifact would be perfectly safe.

However, Krasus and Rhonin were deeply worried about this. Coming from the future, they knew all too well about Neltharion, the Black Dragon Aspect.

The dragons' calamity was being forged from this moment, yet due to various prohibitions, they couldn't warn anyone—they couldn't even utter the word Deathwing.

But Krasus decided to take a gamble. He resolved to send Archmage Rhonin, Druid Malfurion, and Orc warrior Brox to Highmountain, to Neltharion's lair, and steal the Dragon Soul.

Neltharion had already fallen; his duty as Earth-Warder had also doomed him.

For within the earth lay not only immense power but also the profoundly dark ancient forces: the Old Gods.

The mad whispers of the Old God N'Zoth constantly influenced the Black Dragon Aspect, and Neltharion's inseparable connection to the earth left him with no means to resist or evade.

The Dragon Soul in his hands would unleash a great catastrophe, and Krasus, as a dragon, could not stand by and do nothing.

But before they could act, Illidan mysteriously vanished. Malfurion and Tyrande were frantic, searching everywhere to no avail.

Yet Krasus and Rhonin knew exactly where Illidan had gone.

This young elf had thus embarked on his destined path of darkness.

Illidan went to the capital Eldorei, where he would meet the Dark Titan Sargeras on the other side of the portal by the Well of Eternity, and receive a dark blessing: the Curse of Vision.

The first Demon Hunter was about to be born.

Illidan's intent was to approach the enemy, understand the enemy, and even use the enemy's power to strike against them. To gain the strength to protect his kin and the one he loved, Illidan pressed forward without hesitation, even if his kin and the one he loved didn't understand him, even if they called him the Betrayer.

Suramar City.

Boss Hu, playing the role of the Highborne Supreme Emperor, sensed a subtle fluctuation—one he was all too familiar with: the energy fluctuation of an Old God.

Tracing this fluctuation, he found its endpoint in the Highmountain region, within the lair of the Earth-Warder Aspect Neltharion.

As for the Old Gods, Hu Feng had no intention of killing them. He was severely lacking in high-level combat power, and if he could control a few more Old Gods to bolster his strength, that would be ideal.

Thus, after a period of silence, Suramar City bustled with activity once more. A force composed entirely of elite Archmages and Arcane Golems marched out of the city in grand formation, led personally by Boss Hu, heading straight for Highmountain.

Poor Neltharion, the Black Dragon Aspect, had no idea that his lair was about to become the focal point of converging forces.

But at that moment, he wouldn't care about anything else. The whispers of the Old God N'Zoth were corrupting his mind, plunging him into endless madness, and an utterly deranged plan was taking shape within him.

In the capital Eldorei, the Burning Legion had also gained a new commander.

Once glorious Eldorei was now nothing but rubble and ruins, with only the Queen's palace still maintaining its splendor.

By the shore of the Well of Eternity, the Fel Portal blazed with an aura of terrifying might.

Mannoroth the Destructor, that dreadfully fearsome Pit Lord, knelt piously like a harmless, obedient dog.

"Kneel! You insects! Prepare to welcome the arm of the gods, the General Commander of the Burning Legion, Lord Archimonde the Defiler!"

A massive figure stepped through the portal. His skin was blue, with only a few pieces of golden rune armor covering his vital parts. The fel flames in the giant's eyes burned savagely, and his tentacle-like beard swayed slightly.

He was Archimonde the Defiler, the General Commander of the Burning Legion, the Eredar Grand Lord. Countless worlds had turned to seas of fire beneath his feet, all to please their god: the Dark Titan Sargeras.

"You have disappointed me, Mannoroth. This insignificant world still clings to life, and the god is most displeased!"

Mannoroth, whose nature was exceedingly brutal, now knelt obediently before Archimonde, his head drooping low, bearing the posture of one confessing guilt and awaiting punishment.

Archimonde cast a cold glance at him, then let out a snort, refraining from further reprimanding his deputy.

Mannoroth was his direct subordinate, and he had no intention of punishing this most powerful Pit Lord.

The Burning Legion was jointly governed by Archimonde and his kin, another Grand Lord of the Eredar, Kil'jaeden the Deceiver, with the two of them splitting all authority over the Legion equally.

The Dark Titan, however, remained indifferent to such matters, so long as the Legion continued to unceasingly destroy one world after another, squabbles over power and profit could be overlooked.

"Soon, I will personally deal with those lowly ants who dare to resist, and then... dedicate this burning world to our master!"

Dath'Remar Sunstrider stood on a high terrace of the palace, his face twisted with hatred and worry as he stared down at Archimonde beside the Well of Eternity.

At the very top of the palace, a languid, radiant figure also gazed downward.

Queen Azshara had now sunk entirely into her own inescapable fantasies.

As long as she could become the wife of a god, even if all her subjects perished to the last, it would be acceptable.

After all, she was the great Light of Lights, the eternal Light of Thousand Moons.

And for her subjects to sacrifice themselves for her glory—was that not their honor?
