The steel corridor here looked as though it had been swept clean by an energy tsunami. It was shattered and chaotic, while the Arcane magic lamps overhead flickered rapidly and erratically, flashing between light and darkness.
At the end of the corridor lay the Iron Maiden Plan department, whose vast hall was equally devastated.
Every instrument had been completely destroyed, with Arcane energy and electrical currents darting wildly across the surfaces of the machines.
The Nightborne scholars had not suffered much loss. They had evacuated in time and run incredibly fast, so only a few brothers had been unlucky enough to injure their arms and legs in the energy shockwave.
At that moment, a Firstborn of the Gods was struggling to maintain the Dawn Shield, protecting himself and the scholars peeking out from behind him.
These mad scientists were bursting with curiosity. They were practically ready to push the Firstborn of the Gods back into the Iron Maiden hall.

The girl floated in midair without moving. Calmly sweeping her gaze across the hall, she then slowly descended to the ground.
The full-body silver-gray steel covering, like a skintight suit, shifted and reassembled into a set of light armor.
The three pairs of slender steel wings on her back trembled. The countless gun barrels that had extended from them swiftly retracted, and the wings' surfaces became smooth once more.
