With the Mantid's overall strength greatly diminished and the amber tree of the Heart of Fear blasted into a crater by Titan Sarodar, the ruling Karakal Council no longer had the power to control the entire Terrace of Endless Spring. As for the Valley of the Mantid, it had been abandoned outright.

The Lei Shen Dynasty seized this excellent opportunity. On the eve of the Azeroth Allied Forces' assault on the Heart of Fear, they began sweeping southward along the coast from the north, claiming a vast stretch of territory before finally reaching the enormous southern island of Zanvess.
