Just as Titan old hooligan Sarodar joined the Alliance and Horde armies in their assault on Uldir, another huge piece of news spread across all of Zandalar.
The Akunai Cult had been crippled, nearly wiped out, with fewer than one in ten surviving. The culprit was Deathwing, and he had made no effort whatsoever to conceal his atrocities.
Well, this was how it had happened...
After the culprit Deathwing finished capturing dinosaurs and bullying Bwonsamdi, he did not want to immediately return to the Outland world, so he headed for Vol'dun.
There, brother Deathwing, in human form, was talked into boarding an illegal tourist carriage by several local vulpera scam guides. They claimed they would show this distinguished guest all kinds of Vol'dun's famous sights for the low, affordable price of five thousand gold coins.
And so, Lord Wing rode an alpaca cart across Vol'dun's boundless desert.
The first stop was naturally the renowned 4A-rated attraction that partnered with those vulpera scam guides: the Temple of Akunai.
After the vulpera scam guides enthusiastically recommended it, and members of the Akunai Cult strongly urged him to join, Deathwing decided to pay the membership fee, enter the Akunai Cult, undergo the Trial of Akunai, and become a glorious Akunai.
However, the Akunai Cult required all members to abandon their names and devote their entire beings to the great Akunai. For instance, the troll brother who had been trying to recruit Deathwing was now called Wise Akunai.
