Chen Sheng killed Black Tortoise, learned Li Wuji’s secret, and joined the Holy Church as the new Black Tortoise while secretly opposing Venerable Elder. At the Sleeping Land, he led the expedition into the flesh-filled caverns, defeated its threats, and uncovered a disguised flesh creature among his followers.

• Chen Sheng killed Black Tortoise, Yin Hu, and Zi Shu, then defeated Vermillion Bird and heard his warning about Venerable Elder and Xiang Li.
• Li Wuji revealed that he was Venerable Elder, explained the Holy Church’s plans, and asked Chen Sheng to infiltrate the Church, but Chen Sheng agreed only after securing resources and a Heart Seal.
• Chen Sheng trained in the mountains, strengthened his Thunder Authority, resisted the Thunder Essence with Soul Power, and taught Chen Dangui martial arts.
• Chen Sheng joined the Holy Church under the identity Chen Yanzu, defeated White Tiger in a test, and received the Black Tortoise Token.
• Vermillion Bird planned to stage his death during the Sleeping Land mission, and Chen Sheng led the Holy Church expedition into Rock Sea Cloud Forest.
• Flesh-filled trees attacked the group, but Chen Sheng escaped their trap, rescued the survivors, and exposed the flesh beneath the Sleeping Land clearing.

Chen Sheng destroyed the Flesh Consciousness, took command of the Holy Church’s HuaXi Region base, and used Xiao Hei to cure and absorb the Celestial Being Cells of captives. As the Holy Church and Deity Society clashed, Chen Sheng captured Luren and Shandian while Xu Jian prepared the Society to seize the cure.

• Chen Sheng destroyed the Flesh Consciousness and its remaining fragments, rescued the Holy Church disciples, and returned from the Sleeping Land to report to Vermillion Bird.
• Chen Sheng became the Holy Church’s Black Tortoise overseeing the HuaXi Region, then ordered his disciples to find people with unusual abilities or hereditary illnesses.
• Chen Sheng used Xiao Hei to absorb Celestial Being Cells from Liu Dehui and other captives, increasing his Soul Power as the Holy Church gathered more targets.
• Chen Sheng pursued Sun Yi to the Deity Society’s basement, restored Cactus’s health, and sent her back to contact others while the Society’s members began resisting the Holy Church.
• After Liu Dehui was killed, Chen Sheng gave Holy Church operatives tokens infused with Thunder Essence and continued cultivating his physical attributes and Soul.
• Luren and Xu Jian strengthened their powers as the Deity Society’s resistance escalated, but Chen Sheng’s lightning struck Luren’s clones and left the real Luren barely alive before Chou captured him.

• Xu Jian gathered the remaining Deity Society members and announced that he would find the Holy Church’s leader and seize the cure, then asked a young woman whether the two traitors had contacted her.

Chen Sheng defeated Xu Jian, strengthened his power, and returned to confront the Venerable Elder as Xiang Li’s forces attacked Li Wuji’s allies. After the Venerable Elder awakened a Celestial presence, Chen Sheng survived its assault but lost his senses, then helped suppress the chaos that devastated Kyoto.

• Chen Sheng killed Xu Jian, gave Cactus the Black Tortoise Token, and strengthened his body and Wither Bloom Scripture through intense cultivation.
• Xiang Li and the Venerable Elder mobilized against Li Wuji’s allies, while Li Wuji sent Vermillion Bird to warn Chen Sheng of the coming attacks.
• Chen Sheng killed White Tiger and Sun Sheng, captured and killed Sun Cheng, then joined Vermillion Bird and Azure Dragon on their way to Kyoto.
• Xiang Li defeated Sun Yihe and fought Li Wuji, but the Venerable Elder took control of Xiang Li’s body until Chen Sheng arrived and killed them both.

Chen Sheng cultivated the Seven Demon Heart Sutra, overcame the consciousness hidden in its Inheritance Stone, and broke the seal restricting his senses. As he withdrew from public affairs, the Martial Arts Association prepared for an international conference and watched the arriving foreign delegations.

• Chen Sheng accepted Shen Ziming’s vow to grow stronger and help kill the Celestials, then learned from Li Wuji how the Celestials gained the Power of Authority.
• Sun Yihe resurrected through the Seven Demon Heart Sutra, and Chen Sheng obtained its Inheritance Stone from Li Wuji after Shen Ziming and the others left for Kyoto.
• Chen Sheng joined Sun Yihe in Kyoto, where the Martial Arts Association approved stricter oversight of Qi Sense Users and Chen Sheng asked regional leaders to find Celestial Being Cell holders.
