"Dean Gilbert." Qiao Sang composed her expression and greeted him.
"Don't stand there. Have a seat, and we'll talk," Gilbert said.
So it wasn't just about thanking me. He's settling in for a long talk... Qiao Sang pulled out a chair and sat down.
Gilbert glanced at Ya Bao, then looked back at Qiao Sang. "I owe you an apology," he said slowly.
Huh? For what? Qiao Sang looked utterly confused.
"With your talent and strength, your application to the Pet Taming Department at Yuliandun University should have been approved immediately," Gilbert continued. "But because you'd skipped ahead to your third year, we thought your foundational knowledge might not be solid enough, so we decided to wait and see."
Oh, that's what he's apologizing for... Qiao Sang said at once, "It's perfectly normal for an application to be rejected. My foundational knowledge really isn't that solid yet."
Honestly, when Sainan High School had offered her a recommendation letter, even she had thought they were giving her too much credit.
Looking back now, though, her strength really had far surpassed her peers'.
When no one in high school could match her strength, Academic Scores probably didn't matter quite as much.
Otherwise, people from the Imperial Beast Taming Academy wouldn't have come looking for her in person.
Gilbert said gravely:
"Actually, our university never rejected your application. We were still considering it and intended to give you an answer before the deadline."
After a pause, he added, "We just didn't expect the Imperial Beast Taming Academy to get to you first."
My application wasn't rejected? Qiao Sang froze.
So she had almost been accepted by Yuliandun University?
Her first thought was:
Holy crap, good thing the Imperial Beast Taming Academy came when it did...
Her second was: *Why am I thinking that?
