Arc 40The Golden Gu King
Su Qiao and Ye Jinghua grew closer as she treated his poison and faced Su Yue’s threats. Su Qiao finally drew the Marrow-Devouring Gu from her body and refined a Golden Gu King, leaving Ye Jinghua’s cure within reach.
- Ye Beiyao discovered that he had been poisoned, while Su Yue tried unsuccessfully to see him and Nanny Gui was found dead near the mass grave.
- Su Qiao recognized Ye Jinghua’s unusual poison and gave him pills, while he admitted he had never wanted the throne and Su Qiao confessed to Su Baiwen that she liked him.
- Ye Jinghua took Su Qiao to the Lantern Fair and proposed that she become his Princess Consort, but Su Baiwen objected because Ye Jinghua belonged to the Imperial Family that had killed their father.
- He Zhou removed Ye Beiyao’s gu, while Su Qiao confronted Su Yue at the palace and Ye Jinghua publicly declared that he wanted Su Qiao alone and asked her to marry him.
- Su Yue claimed to be Su Qiao’s sister, but Ye Jinghua stated that Prime Minister Su had only one daughter, and Su Yue later blamed Su Qiao for the wrinkles appearing on her face.
- Su Baiwen brought poisonous creatures back from South Mountain, and Su Qiao refined a Golden Gu King before letting it enter her body to draw out the Marrow-Devouring Gu.
- Qing Feng caught the Marrow-Devouring Gu when it emerged from Su Qiao’s wrist, and Su Qiao kept it for Su Yue before separating the Golden Gu King into a porcelain container.
- Qing Feng identified the Golden Gu King and discussed Huanan, while Su Qiao said Ye Jinghua’s poison could be cured once two ingredients arrived.
