Background / History
Chlorine Sodium is a System-selected villain who survives by provoking the Child of the World and converting their hatred into points. She considers this arrangement gambling: failure is acceptable, but death is not. Her accumulated points allowed her to rise from a blank character to a God’s Apostle before she purchased the Herrscher of the Void body. 1
After escaping a previous world while severely weakened, her soul had not fully solidified upon arriving in Terra. She temporarily inhabited the Armed Doll Tesla Zero, intending to remain hidden until her own body formed and her Herrscher power could be safely used again. 1 3
She encountered Yelena in the snowfields and initially identified her as a possible protagonist due to the mark above her head. Rather than kill her, Chlorine Sodium decided to earn greater hatred by becoming her trusted companion before eventually revealing herself as the true villain. She rescued, fed, sheltered, and trained Yelena while privately viewing her as an investment and a tool to cultivate. 3 4 6 12
While searching for the true protagonist, Chlorine Sodium became notorious in Ursus as the “Snow Demon.” She annihilated Imperial forces, spread Honkai Energy during a staged Infected uprising, and cooperated with Koschei in exchange for intelligence on possible protagonist-related phenomena. 11 15 19
After moving to Chernobog and later Lungmen, she maintained civilian identities as a psychiatrist and doctor. She opened a secluded clinic, posed as Doctor Ina to infiltrate the Taiko Group, and continued accepting Koschei’s transactional requests while searching for her actual target. 21 29 45 46
The Administrator later revealed that Yelena’s gray halo did not designate her as Chlorine Sodium’s target. This forced Chlorine Sodium to confront the possibility that Yelena was never meant to be used in her mission, leaving her unusually hesitant over what to do with her. 41 42
Appearance
Chlorine Sodium usually disguises herself as an unremarkable young woman, but her natural appearance remains striking even when concealed. Her Herrscher presence is markedly more imposing, with golden eyes and an aura compared to that of a god. 8 11
- Long silver hair, often concealed beneath a hood or baseball cap. 8
- Blue-black, blue-gray, or pale golden eyes depending on her state and presentation. 8 10 30
- Fair, translucent complexion. 10
- No ears, horns, tails, or other demi-human racial features. 16
- Uses coats, hoodies, formal dresses, and false documentation to blend into different social settings. 8 30 45
Personality
Chlorine Sodium wants an uneventful, “plant-like” life. She dislikes intense joy, despair, noise, excessive social interaction, and problems created by other people. Her preference for peace does not come from kindness; it comes from arrogance, exhaustion, and a desire to avoid needless complications. 1 29 46
As a villain, she is patient, calculating, and exceptionally cautious. She does not rely on fate or gamble with her survival unnecessarily, even when she overwhelmingly outclasses her enemies. She is willing to deceive, manipulate, kill, and manufacture disasters if doing so advances her goal of finding the protagonist and securing more points. 3 6 15 22
She often treats ordinary people as insignificant and rejects ideas of justice or fairness. However, her behavior toward Yelena repeatedly conflicts with this self-image: she rescues her, trains her, suppresses her infection’s visible symptoms, retrieves her from danger, and avoids using her full Herrscher power near her. Chlorine Sodium insists this concern is merely practical investment, but her hesitation suggests otherwise. 16 28 34 38 40
Abilities & Skills
Gambler System and Villain Identification
Chlorine Sodium’s System compels her to play villainous roles across worlds.
- Gains points by drawing hatred from a world’s Child of the World and surviving the resulting conflict. 1
- Can perceive the halo-like markers used to identify protagonists and fellow System villains. 3 42
- Recognizes that protagonists possess extraordinary narrative protection, making direct assassination an unacceptable risk. 3
- Classifies herself as a Power-type Villain, having prioritized combat strength over intelligence networks or large numbers of subordinates. 22
Herrscher of the Void Authority
Her primary power is the enhanced Herrscher of the Void body purchased through the System.
- Opens Gates of Reason/Void Doors to deploy weapons and constructs. 11 23 26
- Creates and fires Subspace Spears in large volleys. 4 23 26
- Treats rare weapons as disposable projectiles capable of demolishing villages and military convoys. 12 23
- Redirected the Apostle’s energy beam with her Void authority. 25
- Can temporarily slow time within a confined space. 4
- Her Herrscher form was initially energy-intensive after arriving in Terra, and she avoids using it near Yelena to conceal her identity. 3 40
Superhuman Physical Combat
Chlorine Sodium’s enhanced body grants extreme speed, strength, and durability even without extensive use of Herrscher armaments.
- Defeated an Infected patrol barehanded before interrogating its surviving mage. 10
- Shattered an Emperor’s Royal Guard’s layered barrier with the sonic-boom punch Heaven Splitter. 11
- Uses close-quarters techniques including the Inch Punch and Iron Mountain Lean. 11 13
- Killed or incapacitated elite guards through direct strikes after breaking their defensive Arts. 9 11
- Defeated a mercenary leader so decisively that she appointed another mercenary as the replacement leader. 50
Honkai Energy Manipulation
She can release and shape Honkai Energy independently of Terra’s Originium Arts.
- Spontaneously ignites objects without flammable material. 7 8
- Spread Honkai Energy across an Ursus concentration-camp standoff, causing mutation and madness among Infected and military police. 15
- Creates Honkai Energy Puppets, including birds used for remote surveillance. 22
- Uses Honkai Energy in medical assessment to judge targets by the “resentment of the dead” surrounding them. 21
Emotion Manipulation
Chlorine Sodium presents her alleged “Originium Arts” as an ability to distort nearby creatures’ emotions.
- Agitated and controlled a snow-wolf pack, driving the wolves to attack Yelena without regard for danger. 13
- States that the effect can influence non-humans, though less effectively. 13
- Uses emotional influence as a means of creating threats and training Yelena under pressure. 13
Medical, Disguise, and Infiltration Skills
Although she is not motivated by medical ethics, Chlorine Sodium effectively exploits the authority and access afforded by a doctor’s identity.
- Worked as a psychiatric doctor in Chernobog using a false identity. 21
- Suppressed Yelena’s visible Originium crystals so she could travel without immediately being identified as Infected. 16
- Maintains multiple identities and fake documents, including Doctor Ina for the Taiko Group operation. 29 45
- Uses understated clothing and secluded clinics to avoid notice. 8 29
