In the quiet office, the sound of typing rang out in an unbroken stream.
Liu Jialin tied up her long, wavy hair and focused intently on entering text into the document on her computer. Her hands flew rapidly over the keyboard.
The office door was suddenly pushed open, and Zhang Xiao stormed in.
Hearing the commotion, Liu Jialin turned her head for a glance before continuing with the work at hand. At the same time, she asked, "What are you in such a hurry for?"
Zhang Xiao sat down in a chair and told Liu Jialin about the news she had just gathered.
"Captain, I ran into Xiao He on my way back."
"And then?"
"Xiao He told me that they went out on a mission this morning, cracked a major smuggling case involving prohibited goods, and arrested quite a few criminals."
"That's fairly normal. Didn't we handle a similar case last month?"
Zhang Xiao added, "After Xiao He and the others interrogated the criminals they arrested, one of them revealed some extremely important information."
"Oh?" Liu Jialin immediately became interested. She stopped working and turned to look at Zhang Xiao.
"Don't keep me in suspense. Get to the point and tell me everything in one breath."
Zhang Xiao said mysteriously, "That person said this..."
As Liu Jialin listened to Zhang Xiao's account, her beautiful willow brows drew together. "If what he said is true, then that resort is a nest where all manner of filth and villainy is hidden..."
Zhang Xiao nodded. "Exactly. Right now, we have no solid evidence proving that there's anything wrong with the resort. With only that person's testimony, we can't search it yet."
Liu Jialin shifted her right hand on the desk, extended her index finger, and lightly tapped the desktop,
