"What was that?"
"A rat?"
Su Yue saw a black shadow dart into the greenery. It moved so quickly that she couldn't tell what it was.
"Ring-ring-ring..."
Her phone suddenly rang, interrupting Su Yue's thoughts. She took it out and saw that an old classmate was calling, then answered.
"Su Yue, are you off work?" Wang Ling had finished cleaning the shop and was now sitting behind the cashier counter, making a call.
"I'm off work. I was just about to go to your place." Su Yue spoke with a beaming smile.
"Then be careful on the way."
"Mm, I will."
After hanging up, Su Yue took a helmet from the trunk and put it on. Half a minute later, a white electric scooter shaped like a little lamb left the campus.
In the greenery in the distance, a plump rat quietly poked its head out of the grass and looked toward the direction in which Su Yue had left.
"Welcome, and please come again." Wang Ling walked the customer to the door and spoke with a smile.
The moment the customer left, she was about to return to the cashier counter when she saw a familiar, graceful figure appear by the roadside.
"Why are you so late?"
"I had quite a lot of work on my hands today. I didn't get off work until I finished dealing with it."
"Did you go to the cake shop?"
"Yeah! There was a newly opened cake shop on the way, so I stopped by to take a look. After trying some samples, I thought they tasted really good, so I bought some cakes. Come and try them."
The two chatted and laughed. A moment later, the flower shop's lights went out, and the two walked out of the shop.
