Su Yue had just stepped out of the office building, her graceful figure swaying as a cool breeze rushed toward her and gently stirred the ends of her hair.
It was evening, and the temperature had dropped considerably, making the air feel somewhat cold.
Su Yue raised a hand to smooth her wind-tousled black hair, quickened her pace, and headed toward the parking shelter in the distance.
A few minutes later, Su Yue expertly put on her helmet and pushed her electric scooter out of the parking shelter.
Just as she was preparing to head home, her phone suddenly rang.
"Ding-a-ling..."
She took out her phone to check it.
The incoming call was from Wang Ling. Su Yue answered immediately, and her friend's familiar voice came through the receiver. "Are you off work?"
The corners of Su Yue's lips lifted slightly as she replied easily, "I'm already off work. Why are you suddenly asking? Is something wrong?"
Wang Ling said apologetically, "The painter said the painting I ordered has been finished.
"But something suddenly came up at home, and I really can't get away to pick it up. Could you make the trip for me?"
Su Yue agreed without hesitation. "Of course. Send me the gallery's address, and I'll go over right now."
After hanging up, Su Yue swung herself onto the little white electric scooter.
The breeze gently teased her hair, carrying a faint chill.
She started the scooter and slowly rode out of the campus, completely unaware that danger was quietly closing in on her.
Under a large tree beside the street not far away, two furtive figures were watching Su Yue intently.
"She's finally out." Zhang Zhao's voice trembled with excitement, and a filthy gleam flickered in his eyes.
Mu Qi curled his lips into a smile
