The dim streetlights on either side of the road cast a soft, hazy glow, silently spreading a warm hue across the street.
It was late autumn. The cold wind howled, violently shaking the rows of roadside trees and sending quite a few leaves fluttering down from their branches.
In the distance, a white electric scooter slowly approached.
Su Yue happened to pass by a vegetable market on her way home.
She suddenly remembered that the food at home was running low, so she gently turned the handlebars and steadily stopped beside the market.
It was already late. Most of the market's small vendors had packed up and gone home, leaving only a few stalls lit in the deserted market.
Fortunately, Su Yue's usual vegetable stall was still open, and the owner greeted her warmly.
Su Yue carefully picked through the vegetables at the stall. Before long, she had bought all the ingredients she needed to prepare dinner that night.
She rode her electric scooter around the end of the street, and Happiness Garden residential area soon appeared before her.
But Su Yue stopped her scooter at the entrance to the residential area. The entrance was in complete chaos. Two cars had scraped against each other, and their owners were arguing without end, nearly coming to blows.
The security guard was spinning in circles with anxiety, struggling to maintain order and attempting to quell the dispute.
"How long is this going to drag on?" A resident who was also stuck at the entrance wore an exasperated expression and could not help muttering.
"I already called. The traffic police will be here soon. Once they arrive, this should be resolved." Another resident spoke up.
Everyone's gazes turned toward Su Yue, and quite a few people greeted her enthusiastically.
