Lin Li looked in the direction He Kai was pointing... Indeed, the residential complex had plenty of greenery. The lawns were neatly trimmed, and several stone tables and benches had been placed around.
But he soon noticed something was off. For such a nice residential complex, there were hardly any people downstairs. Even elderly residents exercising in the morning were few and far between, making the entire complex seem unusually deserted.
He instinctively counted. There were no more than five pedestrians downstairs in total.
"Strange." Lin Li muttered to himself, The occupancy rate here isn't low. With nearly half again as many residents as where I live, how can it be this deserted?
Golden sunlight filtered through the sparse leaves, casting mottled patches of light and shadow across the stone paths of the complex.
