Now that he looked at the Purple Butterflies fluttering about, the reason they had chosen to settle here was probably closely related to the stream before him.
Where there was water, the air was more humid, the plants more luxuriant, and there would be enough nectar and places to rest. The possibility of life appearing there was naturally the highest—let alone for butterflies so sensitive to their environment.
Various thoughts flashed through Lin Li's mind. He was just about to follow the crack and examine it more closely when a deafening beast's roar suddenly exploded from ahead on the street.

The voice was deep and powerful, carrying intense intimidation. It shook the surrounding leaves until they rustled, sent petals drifting down, and even stirred tiny ripples across the stream.
Lin Li's thoughts were instantly interrupted. His gaze sharpened as he looked toward the direction from which the roar had come.
The sound came from the end of the street. He could vaguely hear chaotic noises as well, clearly not produced by a lone creature.
Immediately afterward, a second and then a third beast's roar rang out in succession.
One sounded every few seconds, each more urgent than the last, filled with the meaning of struggle and fury. He could even hear loud collisions, making it obvious that an intense conflict was taking place ahead.
There was no need for careful identification. Lin Li knew that at least two strange beasts were making those roars, and neither was weak. Judging from the volume, they were probably large as well.
He frowned and glanced down at the street beneath his feet... The route he had chosen happened to lead straight toward the direction of the roars.
