"Ring ring ring..."
Suddenly, the prison warden's phone rang in his pocket.
It was a black, shockproof phone, its ringtone a rapid police siren.
The ringing suddenly cut through the empty plaza, shattering the original peace. The sound echoed, exceptionally clear, and even the prison guards standing watch in the distance instinctively looked over.
The warden's brows furrowed slightly. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the phone, swiped a finger across the screen, and answered the call. At the same time, he walked a few steps toward the corner of the plaza, trying to avoid the others as much as possible.
He said "Hello" into the phone, then listened in silence. The expression on his face gradually changed from calm to grave, before finally sinking completely. Even the lines at the corners of his mouth drew taut.
A few minutes later, the warden hung up, shoved the phone back into his pocket, and turned toward his assistant.
Seeing his solemn expression, the assistant's heart gave a jolt. He hurried over and asked curiously.
"Warden, what happened? Did the city bureau issue new instructions?"
The warden stopped walking. His voice was very low, carrying a trace of barely perceptible tension.
"It's not the city bureau. Something happened at a prison in the neighboring city... They were attacked by an armed unknown organization, and five serious criminals took advantage of the chaos to escape. They still haven't been caught."
The assistant's mouth fell open in shock, his eyes widening as he said incredulously,
"How is that possible? What organization could be bold enough to openly launch an armed attack on a prison? Aren't they afraid of being targeted by the Ability Management Bureau?"
The warden shook his head, reached up to rub his brow, and said heavily,
