Lin Li slowly parked the car beneath a tree. The shade blocked most of the sunlight, casting dappled patterns across the ground.
Su Yue quickly walked to the passenger side, opened the door, bent down, and slid inside. A faint fragrance of gardenias drifted into the car with her.
Lin Li turned his head and watched Su Yue skillfully pull over the seat belt and buckle it bit by bit.
A smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. He chuckled, "I thought you'd sleep in and make me come to your place to wake you up."
Su Yue fastened her seat belt, then turned and gave Lin Li a coquettish glare.
She raised a hand to smooth the loose strands hanging beside her ear, tucked them behind it, and said.
"I'm not as lazy as you think. For today's trip to the zoo, I set my alarm long ago.
"All right, enough about that. Let's get going. It'll be even more crowded if we're late."
Lin Li nodded slightly, withdrew his gaze, and lightly pressed the accelerator. The car slowly left the residential compound, heading toward the zoo in the suburbs.
This year, the city zoo had undergone a large-scale expansion. Not only had several new themed exhibits been added, but many rare animals had also been brought in from other regions and even overseas.
After the news came out, it attracted a large number of citizens, and the zoo's popularity had remained sky-high.
More than forty minutes later, Lin Li and Su Yue arrived at the zoo.
As soon as the car reached the zoo entrance, the sight before them stunned them both.
Several long lines had formed at the entrance. They stretched from the ticket gates all the way toward the parking lot, vanishing into the distance.
