"We're finally about to reach our destination!"
A tired yet excited smile appeared on He Lu's face as he raised a hand and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
Traveling along this rugged stretch had already soaked his collar with sweat.
At that moment, he took the canteen from his waist, unscrewed the cap, and gulped down several mouthfuls of water. As he screwed the cap back on, he said,
"After trekking all day, we can finally see the camp. We can get a good rest tonight."
Lin Li raised his head and looked at the sky. A few white clouds drifted across the deep-blue expanse.
His gaze swept around, and he soon spotted several inconspicuous black specks in the sky.
They were circling overhead, following at neither a close nor distant range.
Lin Li raised a finger toward the black specks and said to the people beside him,
"Those guys in the sky have been following us for quite a while."
He Lu looked up in the direction he pointed. Since they were too far away, he could only make out a few blurry black specks and could not see their exact appearance.
He hurriedly took binoculars from his backpack and carefully observed the sky.
With the binoculars' assistance, he immediately saw what the black specks looked like. He breathed a sigh of relief and said,
"They're a few skylarks. These beasts are very common deep in the wilderness. They aren't very strong; they just fly fast and are highly alert.
"It shouldn't be a problem. I doubt they'd dare do anything to us."
He Lu lowered the binoculars and added casually,
"If those skylarks really dare charge over and attack us, they'll simply be courting death. They can serve as an extra dish for us."
Lin Li nodded,
