Lin Li's heart gave a jolt. He vaguely sensed that something was wrong and wondered if he should retreat a little too, putting some distance between himself and this troublesome place.
Just then, he saw several crows that had finished licking up the blood suddenly stop. Their bodies hunched slightly, and their abdomens began to writhe violently.
The next second, white eggs were expelled from their bodies one after another, landing on the bloodstained ground and standing out starkly.
The eggs were only the size of fists. A thin, transparent membrane covered their surfaces, looking elastic, as though it would burst with the lightest poke.
Under normal circumstances, birds laid eggs, and no matter how fragile an eggshell was, it still possessed a certain hardness.
Yet the eggs expelled by these crows had no shells. Something seemed to be writhing beneath the membranes, exuding an indescribable eeriness.

After laying their eggs, the crows flapped their wings and rose into the air again. They circled several times above the battlefield, letting out a few sharp cries as if announcing something.
Then they flew away in the same direction, quickly disappearing beyond the horizon.
Lin Li watched the departing flock of crows, his gaze settling once more on the white eggs covering the ground.
He had just been about to go over and inspect them when he saw one of the eggs twitch lightly.
At first, he thought it was an illusion. But soon, more and more eggs began to writhe. The things beneath the membranes moved increasingly violently, even forming clearly visible bulges.
