"Mom."
Xia Qing was standing by the roadside, taking a call, when a familiar voice sounded beside her ear.
Zhou Tongtong had tied up her hair, her ponytail swinging behind her with every step. Carrying her schoolbag, she jogged over to Xia Qing.
"All right, let's leave it at that for now. I'll come find you tomorrow." After finishing the call, Xia Qing raised a hand to tidy her daughter's slightly messy hair and said with a smile,
"How was school today? Could you understand what the teacher taught?"
Zhou Tongtong nodded seriously, then smiled proudly. "I understood."
"You understood all the knowledge the teacher taught?"
"Mm-hmm."
"Then you're really amazing." Seeing how confident her daughter looked, Xia Qing rubbed her little head and praised her.
"Mom, I'm a little hungry. Let's hurry home!" Zhou Tongtong said.
Xia Qing nodded with a smile, lifted her daughter onto the back seat of the electric scooter, and drove home.
On the way back, they passed a shop that sold cakes.
Zhou Tongtong quickly pointed at the cake shop and said she wanted cake. Xia Qing naturally agreed with a smile, then parked the electric scooter by the roadside.
"Do you only want strawberry cake? Don't you want some of the others too?" Xia Qing asked.
"No, I don't need the others. Strawberry cake is enough." Zhou Tongtong shook her head.
"All right, then wait here. Don't run around..." Xia Qing told her daughter, then walked toward the queue in front of the cake shop.
Zhou Tongtong stood by the roadside with her schoolbag on her back. After seeing Xia Qing join the very end of the queue, she shifted her gaze away.
