The night was hazy, and traffic flowed in orderly fashion along the streets.
Inside Happiness Garden residential area, a silver-white van was parked by the roadside.
"Click."
Su Yue opened the passenger-side door and got out, but she did not leave at once.
"Is there something else?" Lin Li asked doubtfully when he saw that Su Yue had not closed the door.
"Did you forget something?" Su Yue asked with a radiant smile.
"What?"
"Didn't you say you bought some really delicious twisted dough sticks and saved one for me? Give it to me now!"
Only then did Lin Li realize it. A thought stirred in his mind, and he took a twisted dough stick from the Mysterious Small Island.
"Thanks!" Su Yue said with a beaming smile. As she held the dough stick and prepared to leave, she reminded Lin Li, "You're going hunting in the wilderness tomorrow. Be careful."
"Mm." Lin Li nodded, started the vehicle, and drove toward the entrance.
Su Yue stood by the roadside, watching the silver-white van drive away. Only after it disappeared did she withdraw her gaze and walk toward a nearby stairwell entrance.
In the dim room, the sound of the door opening rang out.
Su Yue returned home with graceful movements, turned on the lights, and sat down on the living-room sofa. She took a bite of the twisted dough stick Lin Li had given her and found that it really did taste good.
"Ha~"
She suddenly felt a little sleepy. After yawning several times, Su Yue ate the remaining small piece of dough stick, got up, and went to the bedroom to fetch her pajamas before taking a shower.
The patter of running water sounded in the bathroom. Through the swirling steam, a slender figure could be seen.
