The bathroom door opened, and Xia Qing, fresh from her shower with a white towel wrapped around her, stepped out of the steam-filled bathroom in her slippers.
Hearing the television still on in the living room, Xia Qing immediately went over and called out to Zhou Tongtong, who was sitting on the sofa watching TV.
"Tongtong, it's time for bed."
"Mom, there's only a little left in this episode. I'll go to bed when it's over." Zhou Tongtong turned to Xia Qing and pleaded.
"One episode after another—you could watch until dawn and still not finish. What did you promise me earlier? You said you'd go back to your bedroom after this episode. You have to keep your word!" Xia Qing shook her head and scolded her.
Zhou Tongtong pursed her lips, then reluctantly picked up the remote and turned off the television.
She climbed down from the sofa, put on her cartoon slippers, and headed for the bedroom.
When Little White Cat and Little Black Cat saw Zhou Tongtong return to her bedroom to rest, they hurried after her.
"She's been a little too obsessed with cartoons lately. I need to keep an eye on her." Xia Qing watched her daughter's departing back and muttered to herself.
In a moment of carelessness, the white towel wrapped around her fell away, revealing a flash of spring scenery and making her cry out in surprise.
She hastily picked up the towel, wrapped it around herself again, and then headed for the bedroom.
Inside the bedroom plastered with cartoon wallpaper, Zhou Tongtong picked a cute little bear from the pile of stuffed toys and hugged it to her chest. Then she climbed onto the bed and pulled back the covers.
"Meow... Zhou Tongtong, are you going to sleep?" Little Black Cat asked.
