To get the Nautiloid Ship running again, he could either sit on the Psionic Amplifier himself or cultivate another Mind Flayer to take his place.

That way, the Mind Flayer Arcanist could keep the Nautiloid Ship running without worrying about being controlled by the Overmind.

However, this seemingly perfect solution ran into trouble at the very first step.

Most members of the Rage Tribe were Dire Goblins, and their intelligence was far below the required standard.

Finding a suitable vessel had unexpectedly become the most troublesome task.

The goblins had also realized that something seemed to have gone wrong with the Nautiloid Ship. They had therefore hauled their catapults into the woods, trying to attack it while the Nautiloid Ship was inactive.

But their range was limited. Even if they could hit the Nautiloid Ship, their attacks had limited destructive power as well.

Although the Mind Flayer Arcanist had now fully mastered the powers of psionics and magic, his strength and equipment alone were still insufficient for him to challenge several hundred Barbarians who were at least level six.

Neither side could do anything to the other, so the two sides reached a stalemate.

The Mind Flayer Arcanist waited for a vessel that could be transformed into a Mind Flayer and serve as his replacement, while the goblins of the Rage Tribe waited for the messengers sent to seek help from other tribes to return with reinforcements.
