Background

Shuangye joined the Marshall Territory Self-Governing Army on the same day as Hei Fan and became the Fenrir Squad's mage. Having entered Innocent World earlier than him, she had already gathered local information and acquired a house in Rockpile City rather than living in the barracks. She admits that socializing is not her strength. 3

Her real identity is Mu You, a hacker known as Black Sun. She had attempted to breach Innocent World's system, failed to access even a byte of server data, and entered the game partly to investigate it further. During this effort, she discovered the game's player-time system: twelve real-world login hours correspond to twenty-four in-game hours, while the world pauses for players during their offline period. 9

After suspecting Hei Fan of being connected to her long-time online counterpart, she set network traps and monitored responses to test him. Mo Tan recognized the pattern of her bait information, while Shuangye later met his Chaotic Neutral character, Tan Mo, in a player public space. Believing Tan Mo and Hei Fan were separate people, she accepted Tan Mo's friend request and treated him as a major new rival. 15 17 18

Her usually listless exterior changes completely when she works. As Mu You, she displays intense focus and excitement during hacking contests, operating at high speed alongside her AI, Navi. 14 She is competitive toward Mo Tan and sees him as difficult prey, yet their exchanges are marked by mutual teasing, deception, and professional respect. 17 22

Although intelligent, Shuangye does not consider herself suited to command or social coordination. During the Fenrir Squad's battle against Fireclaw orcs, she follows Hei Fan's tactical direction without objection after her mana is depleted. 30 32
