Path of Propagation Stellaron

Deep within the ruins, Bai Sheng had already cut down no fewer than a hundred Scythe Bugs, but the insects seemed endless, impossible to kill off completely. And now, he had been blocked at the second marked point by a dense tide of bugs.

The original shape of the buildings here was no longer discernible. The walls were covered in the flesh, blood, and white bones of all kinds of creatures—enough to send anyone's sanity plummeting at a glance—along with a nauseating stench.

"Full Moon!"

Bai Sheng moved back and forth through the bug swarm as though he had activated some unstoppable combat mode. Every swing of his Scythe Blade claimed the life of a Scythe Bug.

Yet the insects had inherited the finest traits of the Path of Propagation: fearlessness in the face of death and overwhelming numbers.

They were playing the swarm tactic!

"Damn it! Why are there so many bugs?!"

Bai Sheng could no longer stand the smell and immediately unleashed his ultimate.

"Moonlight Annihilation!!!"

Bai Sheng swung Pandora rhythmically, his movements resembling an eerie dance. Behind him, an incomparably black Full Moon gradually took shape.

Within that black moon, the bug swarm sensed an overwhelming aura of death.

The slightly intelligent bugs knew they could not allow Bai Sheng to complete the black moon's construction, so they rushed forward to stop him.

But Bai Sheng would hardly let them have their way. Pandora's swings always managed to cut down the Scythe Bugs that charged at him.

The Path Energy of the Hunt was amplified without limit. The black moon behind Bai Sheng instantly erupted with brilliant light, engulfing every Scythe Bug within it.

On closer inspection, the Golden Eyes in one of Bai Sheng's eyes had already gone out, while the glow in the other had dimmed somewhat.

When the white light faded, not a single bug remained in sight. Only the walls around them, nearly crushed apart by the immense Path Energy, bore witness to what had happened.

Bai Sheng let out a long breath and rubbed the eye whose Golden Eyes had gone dark.

Pandora said, "Brat, your control over the spirit puppet has gotten stronger again. Last time, you still couldn't construct a Full Moon!"

Bai Sheng nodded. He could feel that as he grew older, the power of his talent was becoming stronger and stronger. If he could escape the dog emperor's control sooner, perhaps his power would grow even greater.

The foul smell still lingered. Just as Bai Sheng was about to leave, he heard Silver Wolf's voice through the communicator.

"Bai Sheng! Where did you go? I found the Stellaron! Get over here and help me! There are way too many bugs!"

Bai Sheng chuckled and checked Silver Wolf's coordinates. Nice. She was close.

He spun Pandora in a flashy flourish, then headed toward Silver Wolf's location.

Over on Silver Wolf's side, she held Prometheus as she continuously took down the approaching Scythe Bugs, retreating as she complained, "Isn't this spawn count a little ridiculous?!"

As a Scythe Bug closed in, Silver Wolf drew upon the Path Energy of the Nihility and constructed a cube-shaped object above its head. It slammed down with quantum damage, knocking the Scythe Bug unconscious. At the same time, she did not forget to finish it off with Prometheus.

Looking at the enormous Bug Queen ahead, Silver Wolf wanted to find a chance to get closer, but there were simply too many Scythe Bugs guarding it.

"Could this Stellaron be one of the Path of Propagation?"

As Silver Wolf pondered this, she raised Prometheus before herself and thwarted a Scythe Bug's sneak attack.

"Why isn't Bai Sheng here yet?! I'm about to be unable to hold on!"

Silver Wolf complained. Invading a planet would not have been difficult for her, but that assumed the planet had a network. A primitive place like this severely limited what she could do.

"Silver Wolf, get down!"

A voice suddenly rang out behind Silver Wolf. She obediently dropped to the ground, and the next second, a massive black slash swept through the Scythe Bugs before her, cutting them all in half at the waist.

"How was that? Timely enough?"

Bai Sheng arrived beside Silver Wolf and helped her up.

"More or less. See that? The one with the huge belly is the Queen Bee. The Stellaron is inside its stomach."

Silver Wolf pointed at the Queen Bee.

Bai Sheng looked at it. Its brownish body was covered in hard armor, and its abdomen was huge and elongated, making it look somewhat like an ant queen—except this bug was far larger.

"This Stellaron has probably been contaminated by the Path of Propagation. Otherwise, these low-level bugs shouldn't possess the aura of the Path of Propagation."

Silver Wolf made her deduction. After killing several Scythe Bugs earlier, her analysis of their blood had shown them to be native lifeforms with no connection to the Path of Propagation. Unless this Stellaron belonged to the Path of Propagation, bugs this small could not have caused the decline of an entire planet.

"Stellarons are divided by Paths too?"

"Some are, some aren't. This kind of Stellaron is created when it comes into excessive contact with a certain Path and accumulates too much energy from it. I've even seen a Stellaron of the Path of Remembrance before—the kind that froze an entire planet."

"That powerful? Tell me all about it when we get back!"

Even while speaking, Bai Sheng did not forget to greet the Scythe Bugs with "Full Moon."

Seeing her countless offspring being mercilessly slaughtered, the Bug Queen let out a grating shriek from its deformed mouth.

All the Scythe Bugs protecting the Queen Bee shrieked and charged toward Bai Sheng and Silver Wolf.

"I told you, this Bug Queen wasn't that smart. Who sends all the guards around them over to fight?"

Silver Wolf pointed at the Bug Queen, then charged up Prometheus in its hand cannon form and applied a Weakened debuff above the Bug Queen's head.

"Quick, while we have the chance!"

Silver Wolf held back the attacks of countless Scythe Bugs at the front while Bai Sheng charged up Black Moon in the rear.

"What are you doing? Why are you dancing now?"

Seeing Bai Sheng dancing while holding Pandora, Silver Wolf asked in confusion.

"Charging up my ultimate. I'm going to clear the screen!"

Silver Wolf understood. At last, she would get to see this kid's true strength. Back when she had been doing beginner quests, she had made quite the spectacle of herself, directly crippling an entire planet's networks and electronic devices. She had heard that Sam had outright blown up a planet back then.

"Moonlight Annihilation!!!"

The Black Moon behind Bai Sheng had already taken shape, powerful Path Energy from the Path of the Hunt spilling forth. The moment Silver Wolf saw that he had finished charging, she immediately ducked behind Bai Sheng. Even Prometheus was sounding alarms! With such an enormous amount of Path Energy, he could probably fight an Emanator and still have a thirty-percent chance of winning.

No matter how unintelligent the Bug Queen was, it could tell that this pitch-black thing could take its life!

With a shrill screech, it summoned all the surrounding Scythe Bugs to protect itself.

But unfortunately, the seemingly maxed-out Scythe Bugs were reduced to dust the instant they touched the Black Moon. Including the Bug Queen, the Scythe Bugs that had nearly crippled Tislayne's entire ecosystem were easily dealt with by Bai Sheng and Silver Wolf alone.

"Success!"

"Done!"

The two high-fived, then looked toward the center of that pile of ashes, where a sphere giving off an eerie black-purple glow lay quietly.
