A week had passed without anyone noticing. Thanks to the victory in the campaign against the Annihilation Mother Worm, the dog emperor had generously granted Bai Sheng a rare month-long vacation.
Yet Bai Sheng was currently sitting at a coffee table, staring worriedly at the uninvited man across from him.
After ordering two coffees, Bai Sheng handed one to the man opposite him and said, "Hello. Let's get acquainted. My name is Bai Sheng."
"Hello. My name is Ying Xing."
The air seemed to freeze in that instant. Bai Sheng looked at him, and he looked at Bai Sheng. Judging by his features, the man had a pale complexion, yet his skin looked as tender as that of a small child. His hands were wrapped in bandages, and he wore clothing from the Xianzhou.
He looked somewhat gloomy overall. His hair was long, and he carried a shattered sword on his back.
To be honest, Bai Sheng was a little panicked right now. Why did this man... look more and more like... a Stellaron Hunter?
"Mr... Ying Xing, may I ask what you wanted to see me about?"
Bai Sheng asked, taking a sip of coffee along the way.
Not bad. It was actually pretty tasty.
"Kill me."
"Pfft!"
Bai Sheng sprayed a mouthful of coffee all over Ying Xing's face and hurriedly apologized.
"Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean to! But, Mr. Ying Xing, what did you just say?"
"Kill me."
Ying Xing repeated himself. Afraid Bai Sheng had not heard clearly, he slowed his tone and repeated it once more.
If one ignored the coffee dripping down his hair, he actually looked quite serious.
"Why did you come to me?"
Bai Sheng asked. He was becoming more and more convinced that the guy in front of him was Blade from the Stellaron Hunters.
"Because you are our companion."
Ying Xing replied calmly. At the same time, he rose to his feet and motioned for Bai Sheng to follow him.
Bai Sheng was also afraid that this guy might suddenly start slaughtering people. Otherwise, that dog emperor would find another excuse to make trouble for him. He had no choice but to follow.
After winding through countless twists and turns, the two arrived in an alley. Ying Xing drew the sword from his back and flung it in Bai Sheng's direction.
Bai Sheng shut his eyes in fright and instinctively pulled out Pandora to block it.
"Ugh!"
"Alright. Now all those rats are gone."
Bai Sheng opened his eyes and discovered a man lying unconscious behind him. It was one of the Old Emperor's Shadow Guards!
"You dead bastard! You sent people to follow me again!!!"
Bai Sheng was furious, but he could not show it right now. He could only vent his anger on the Shadow Guard, kicking him flying and leaving him hanging from the branches of a distant tree.
Then he turned back to Ying Xing and said, "You... are a Stellaron Hunter?"
"Yes."
"Stop pretending! I already kne— huh? What?"
Ying Xing was starting to wonder whether Bai Sheng had something wrong with his ears, so he repeated himself.
"I am Blade, a Stellaron Hunter."
"What is the Stellaron Hunters' purpose in coming to Kasantiya? Or does Kasantiya have a Stellaron?"
Bai Sheng raised Pandora and assumed a defensive stance.
"Neither. It's just me. I seek death."
Blade patiently explained.
"Then why did you come to me? Couldn't those people from the Interastral Peace Corporation do it?"
"Because of your talent, boy. Besides, the Corporation can't kill me. I've tried."
After saying that, Blade stabbed his sword straight into his own heart and twisted it inside the wound.
"No, you—!"
Bai Sheng had never seen such a brutal scene before. Usually, he was the one plunging blades into other people's hearts. What was this? Had the world turned upside down? Had the enemy suddenly grown a conscience?
Unexpectedly, Blade merely spat out a mouthful of blood and several fragments of organs. Then, looking utterly unconcerned, he pulled out the sword and spread his hands toward Bai Sheng.
"It's useless. Ordinary attacks can't kill me. I want to test your talent. In return, we will give you a real identity among the Stellaron Hunters."
Hearing this, Bai Sheng felt as though a hundred thousand Wubbaboos were stampeding through his heart.
Why the hell had he used the title of Stellaron Hunter in the first place? Great. Now they had come knocking.
"My talent can only control souls; I can't destroy them! Since you've already investigated me, you should know I can't do it. Sorry. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving first..."
Just as he was about to slip away, a distinctly Hanser-like voice rang out around him:
"Quit talking nonsense. Blade, just take him back to the ship, won't you? I've given you permission. Kafka wants to talk to him. I'm going to play games now. See you, White Ghost."
Before Bai Sheng could react, Blade grabbed him by the back of the neck like a chick. Bai Sheng, who had still been clinging to a sliver of hope, instantly wilted like an eggplant hit by frost.
Blade then dragged him into a digital-style Teleportation Gate...

Kasantiya Imperial Palace
A Shadow Guard hurriedly ran in and reported to the emperor in a panic:
"His Majesty, this is bad! Prince Bai Sheng... he... he..."
"What happened to him? Did he die? Just retrieve the Divine Artifact, then. Why are you making such a fuss? Haven't you ever seen a dead prince?"
The emperor spoke lazily as he looked through the documents in his hand.
"No, Your Highness isn't dead! He's gone missing!"
"What?! Missing? Didn't I have Shadow Guards following him? How could he go missing? What about the Divine Artifact? Did that disappear too?"
The emperor flew into a rage and slammed the documents in his hand onto the desk, sending them scattering to the floor. He roared at his subordinates:
"Go find him! Can you find the Divine Artifact by standing around here? Whether he lives or dies doesn't matter! If you can't find the Divine Artifact, bring your heads to me!"
"Yes..."
In an instant, more than fifty Shadow Guards in the hall knelt down together, then vanished from sight in the blink of an eye.
It would still be better to kill you. Divine Artifact? Hmph. Even without a Divine Artifact, I can make my country stronger!
Thinking this, the emperor picked up the documents he had knocked to the floor.

After passing through the Teleportation Gate, Bai Sheng and Blade arrived before a round table.
Directly in front of them sat a woman with wine-red hair, smiling at him. Judging from the wanted poster, this woman should be Kafka. A black cat beside her was also staring at Bai Sheng, making him feel extremely uncomfortable, as though everything about him had been seen through.
To her left, a girl chewing bubble gum was playing on a handheld console. She merely glanced at Bai Sheng before turning her attention back to the game. She was probably Silver Wolf.
On the right sat a towering white mech. Bai Sheng remembered this one vividly. Its name was Sam. Bai Sheng had seen it in Kasantiya's ancient records—it was a "Firefly" Type-IV mech, one of Glamoth's Iron Cavalry. Inside should have been a clone of the Glamoth Empress.
Kafka, seated in the center, was the first to speak:
"Hello, little Bai Sheng. Or should I say, White Ghost?"
