Background / History

When Bai Sheng arrives on the Luofu, Yan Qing challenges him to a spar in order to hone his swordsmanship against a strong opponent. Bai Sheng defeats him while deliberately avoiding a lethal finishing blow; Yan Qing accepts the result and seeks to treat Bai Sheng as a master. Bai Sheng instead establishes their proper standing as fellow disciples, with himself as Yan Qing's senior brother. 39 40 41
Yan Qing later confronts Bai Sheng when he appears to have defected to the Medicine Master's Secret Transmission.
