Could it be more than Truth?
Other than Truth, the only one capable of viewing the entire world through "relatively rational" thinking was Folly.
And considering that Galiusha had turned out to be a follower of Folly...
Oh no. Could Pelaya have been assimilated by Galiusha?
Had she taken Folly as her new Truth?
But how could a scholar who appeared so incredibly composed have become a follower of Folly so calmly? Besides, she showed none of the characteristic gestures of a follower of Folly.
Cheng Shi was curious, but this clearly wasn't the time to ask questions. Explaining the Truth Ritual had already wasted a great deal of time, and Pelaya's figure had begun to fade. He had to seize the moment and ask the Grand Scholar what temporary measures the Scholarly Council might prepare to deal with her, their traitor and intruder.
And this plan was very likely the Trial Experiment the players were searching for.
Pelaya furrowed her brows. She calmly analyzed the various pieces of information the players had fed her. Not long afterward, her whole body suddenly trembled. Her pupils contracted sharply as she raised her head and spat out two words in a voice suppressing a trace of anger:
"Rewind!"
Rewind?
Cheng Shi of course knew what rewinding meant. The Desolate Walker experiment Pelaya herself had presided over had used the deconstruction of space-time, with bloodline as the guide to establish a space-time connection, thereby rewinding to the Rosna Empire to search for Dizer's soul within the Gift of Scars.
But why would the Scholarly Council rewind to that point? Even if they had a way to use the Truth Ritual to piece together an Envoy's soul and body, Dizer's soul was already gone. The Great One had personally annihilated it.
In that case,
