Memory left.
It had come quickly and left just as quickly.
What puzzled him was that she had left on her own. She had neither taken Cheng Shi with her nor driven him away.
One had to know that Cheng Shi was currently standing inside her collection hall. In the past, even the little fraudsters would be chased away the moment they poked their heads into the hall. Yet now, she had simply "left" Cheng Shi behind. Was that really all right?
Something was wrong! Very wrong!
Cheng Shi stood rooted to the spot and thought for a long while. He could only conclude that the other party was fishing for a lawbreaker, waiting for him to make a move before arresting him on the spot and turning him into a prisoner like Afros.
So he didn't dare move recklessly. He simply stood there quietly, waiting for Memory to appear again and, greatly disappointed, send him back.
Yet no matter how long he waited, nothing around him reacted. This plunged Cheng Shi into deep thought once again.
Was she serious?
What did this mean? Didn't she mind him wandering around in her collection hall?
Was she really that kind?
Impossible.
He mustn't forget that the words "There is no kindness in this world without a reason" had come from Memory herself. How could she suddenly lift the restrictions on a Follower of Deception?
Even if she truly tacitly allowed him to walk through Memory's collection hall, she certainly had another motive!
Was she waiting for him to reveal a flaw so that she could uncover the details of this memory?
Or could Deception's adversary be trying to make him "voluntarily" decipher this vanished memory for her?
Did she even know that Eternal Prisoner of Time could preserve her memory?
